Best summer ever!
Thank you to all the folks who hired us for their festival, concert series or house concerts. We hope to join you again!
Thank you to the Jebberhooch! The core Hoochers, the "Tone Setters" are Saul Myhre, Jeff Gilbertson and Caleb Anderson! They were the roots man. Holding it down. A special thanks to all the musicians who joined us or filled in for the core. You never know what you're going to get at a Boss Mama and The Jebberhooch show. Each show was unique and wonderful with all kinds of different folks giving it their all. All my love to these people.

@dulilithfest Act IV: @betweenhowls

Between Howls cover of Nick Drake's "Place To Be" as performed at Dulilith is now available to watch on my YouTube channel.

If you watch that and think, "wow! They're great! I'd sure love to see them live," then I have good news for you! They will be performing at Stage North in Washburn this Thursday evening, 10/15. So come on out and see them for yourselves. Music starts around 7:30. See ya there!

Thank you, @dulilithfest ! I know it rained, thundered and cut the programing a little short... But I had so much fun listening to heartfelt music, doing yoga in the grass, catching up with so many friends and just adoring this beautiful, woman-powered space. Some highlights were seeing Wussow's friends hula hooping in the rain, Eric demonstrating how to hug your friend who's got a cold, Sharing an umbrella with Ren for a moment, this gorgeous young lady drawing a caricature of me, @angelalynnpotter resting under her pottery table during a sprinkle and Nate live painting literally every musician that performed. Thank you to my @altcreativeduluth for including my stained glass in your booth and encouraging me to come out to play. (What didn't sell will be for sale at Alt shortly!)
.
To round out this beautiful day: dinner and dj dance party at @bentpaddlebeer was exactly what I needed to warm up! Thank you, Shane & @sadkinsound for spinning tunes.
.
And in case you missed sunrise over Lake Superior this morning: there's no filter on that photo. It really was THAT purple and orange and pink all around me on the beach. This is one of the happiest days of my year. Thank you.

I feel like I've talked myself to death this week. It is Stohre-Stories after all.

I've also edited myself to death.

So for now here's a sneak peek at @dulilithfest 2. Unedited raw images. No stories. No fancy-schmancy composites. No edits at all. Just beautiful people in a beautiful place singing beautiful songs and making my heart feel full & warm even if there were dark clouds surrounding us and chilling us with rain.

Thank you to the organizers. The artists. The vendors. The friends. The hugs. The laughs. The conversations. The photographs. The umbrellas. The tents.

Bummed to have missed out on Janie & the Spokes and Witchfarm. Hope I catch y'all somewhere else sometime. Silly rain on our parade.

💘🫂🤘

Most anticipated performance (personally) at @dulilithfest 2: Electric Boogaloo, @betweenhowls.

I've only seen @renhowl perform twice. Once with @elsakrantzduluth & once with @hot_tamale_cosmos. Both on the same day at Dulilith 1.

She's got style for days and is damn good with a violin. Fiddle? What's the difference again? I'm a music lover. Not expert.

Ever since last year's performances I've been seeing all sorts of praise and clips and pics from her band Between Howls. I can't go to every show I want to. Not in this stupid economy. So despite interest, I haven't had the chance yet.

The day will be full of surprises. Between Howls stands as the only performance by someone I'm aware of and interested in hearing for the first time. Everyone else is someone I know and love dearly already (usually through Dulilith 1) or someone I have no idea who they are or what their music sounds like at all. I suppose that is highly anticipated as well. Just discovering new folks.

This weekend is also Applefest in Bayfield, Wisconsin. I'm sure many folks from Chequamegon Bay are going to stay here for that rather than trekking to Duluth. (Wrong choice by the way, but I digress.) But I have good news! You might miss out on 90% of Dulilith by consuming too many apples, but you can (and should) come see Between Howls perform at Stage North in Washburn on 10/15. 10% of the Dulilith 2 experience is better than 0%.

Dulilith 2--Saturday, October 3rd, all day long. Be there. It's better than apple cider. I swear!
