The perfect clothes, the perfect friendships, the perfect life... The perfectionistic pressure that social media can layer on can feel absolutely crushing.

“It’s really easy in this generation to think you’re falling behind, just because you’re constantly bombarded with everybody else’s highlight reel and you’re comparing it to your day to day. It’s one of the biggest misconceptions that because my life looks perfect, it is perfect. It isn’t.”

Canadian actress Sara Waisglass (Netflix’s hit show Ginny & Georgia, Degrassi: The Next Generation and Degrassi: The Next Class) opens-up about the anxiety-inducing perfectionistic pressure that social media can fuel.

@sarawais is joining forces with @BeUnsinkable to raise awareness to the rising mental illness in youth and offer a helping hand into the Unsinkable Community.

No one is alone and all are welcome exactly as you are at @beunsinkable.

Just a reminder that the way a body looks does not reflect the state of that person's health.
.
Healthy bodies look different. Often times when I've looked my "best", I've been at my worst with my health. What seems to many as a compliment to say I'm looking great at those times becomes a reinforcement for my brain to restrict and neglect my needs.
.
Let's make a pact and stop commenting on people's bodies and making assumptions. Deal? Deal.

Centre's ICMR- National Task Force for Covid-19 on Monday revised the guidelines for the management of adult patients and dropped off label use of convalescent plasma for treatment.

Previous guidelines recommend Plasma Therapy within 7 days of the onset of symptoms.

The decision was taken as the treatment was not found beneficial in reducing the progression to severe disease or death.

Art is a tool for mental health. Tackling emotions, thoughts even advocacy for this important health issue/s in our society. Title: Beautiful Sparrow in Me. (Self Portrait)
One of my art classes had us capturing and creating a self portrait painting. I tacked this project with May being @mental.health.awareness_ month The use of purples and greens in solidarity with those meeting the challenges of Mental Health. The small addition of the sparrow in my finger is a reminder of the great lyric. “ I sing because I'm happy
I sing because I'm free
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me (He watches me)
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches
I know He watches
I know He watches me “. Thanks to @unsinkablestories @unsinkableyouth @silkenlaumann @christinembays for the opportunity to be an advocate and Community Champion!! Thanks to my art instructor @rosemarysart for mentoring and challenging me in my art!!
