Bassett Hyde Linens is a luxury bath & bedding brand known for its distinctive, avant-garde approach to craftsmanship, material, and design. We were asked to evolve the brand identity through a refined logo system, elevated art direction, and a new visual storytelling framework across stills, motion, and digital platforms. The work was designed to clarify the brand’s unique positioning, strengthen recognition, and create a more cohesive expression across every touchpoint. SOMEWHERE I’ve been doing a lot of looking back recently — not my default state, for I, like my namesake Monsieur Lagerfeld, prefer to look forward. My detestation of nostalgia aside, at the recent RELLIK summer party (owned by the divine Fiona @rellikvintage and quite possibly the best vintage emporium this side of heaven), I bumped into an old friend, Melode @mymelimel. We soon got talking about the old New York days — I lived there for six years from 1996, while Melode was a long-term resident — and our darling mutual friend Louise @louisejgraham, and it wasn’t long before Melode began producing old Polaroids on her phone, forcing me to confront the past yet again. The image above must have been taken on a trip prior to my New York residency, as it dates from September 1994. The image is of me and Bev @beverleyhyde , an acquaintance from long ago, at a party I had completely forgotten ever attending (it was the ’90s, darling). But the strangest recollection wasn’t the party. It was my hair. I have absolutely zero recollection of having long, straight, auburn-ish hair at any point during my life. Now, I was hanging out with a lot of lesbians in New York at the time — it was unquestionably the best social scene in town (Clit Club anyone?) — and this might explain why I appear to resemble a baby Kristen Stewart, albeit with a tan that almost certainly came from Louise and me spending the weekend on Fire Island. Perhaps as the distances of life grow ever longer with age, it’s sometimes easier to look back on oneself as an entirely different person altogether. 💫 Photos: @mymelimel
