I am excited to share that I’ll be teaching a “From Stage to Screen” Workshop for middle and high school students at the Bobcat Theatre Camp at Texas State University this Summer!

As a filmmaker, theatre director, and educator, I am passionate about helping young performers discover authentic storytelling, build confidence in front of the camera, and develop professional acting techniques for film and television. I’m excited to share my experience with the next generation of artists through this incredible program.

A special thank you to the esteemed Texas State Theatre Teacher Certification Program (so many theatre educator stars emerge from this program), for creating meaningful opportunities for students to grow as performers, collaborators, and creative thinkers. It is an honor to be part of a program that continues to invest in arts education and inspire future storytellers.

I can’t wait to meet these talented young artists and explore the exciting world of TV and Film performance together!

TXST students are taking the stage beyond the classroom! 🎭📚

TXST students Riley Benham, Cade Norman, Piper Smith, and Jay Stevens joined faculty members Bethany Corey-Ekin and Michelle Dahlenburg to co-present at the Drama for Schools Symposium hosted at The University of Texas at Austin on May 15, 2026.

Their presentation, Drama-Based Pedagogy in Community Settings: Story, Dialogue, and Embodied Practice, explored how drama-based pedagogy is shaping learning experiences and community engagement across Texas State’s Theatre: Performance & Production and Theatre: Teaching Certification programs.

Through story, dialogue, and embodied practice, their work highlighted the impact theatre can have both inside and beyond the classroom. Eat ‘em up, Cats!

Yesterday, our Musical Theatre class had the BEST day at Texas State’s production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella! ✨

The show was absolutely magical, and our students were blown away by the incredible performances and technical work. Afterward, we enjoyed a beautiful picnic at Sewell Park by the San Marcos River, which made the day even more special.

Safe to say… we might have some future Bobcats in the making 🐾

Thank you so much @txstmt @txsttdf @txsttheatre @bfacert for having us. This is a day we will never forget! 💙🎭
