Ahhhhh, thank you so much for voting me in first place for the 2026 Best of 716 by @thebuffalonews 🥹🥹 Being recognized by my amazing, supportive clients, two years in a row, means everything to me. I truly cannot put my gratitude into words 🫶

I opened Estelle Esthetics to create a space where women in Buffalo can feel comfortable, respected, and confident in their own skin, especially in services like Brazilian waxes that can feel vulnerable. Every appointment, every conversation, and every client who walks through the door has helped me build this community.

As all entrepreneurs know, running a business has its challenges, but the opportunity to make a positive impact on your lives is the best feeling in the world! To be trusted by my clients means more than I can put into words.

Thank you for showing up for this small, woman-owned wax and brow studio. We’re just getting started! *Cue tears*

Endeavor Health Services CEO Elizabeth Mauro, seated in the front row on the left, recently joined regional healthcare leaders for a Buffalo Business First Publisher Dinner sponsored by Dopkins & Company, LLP.

The discussion focused on growing demand, limited resources, workforce strain and access to care across Western New York. Addressing the pressure that psychiatric emergency room surges place on community providers, Liz shared, “For the community to pick that up and with scarce resources, it is very difficult. The team gets burned out and exhausted. That is what keeps me up at night.”

Liz also emphasized the importance of earlier recognition and care for mental health and substance use concerns, stronger coordination among providers and continued investment in programs already serving our communities.

From her start as an intern and licensed clinical social worker to her current role as CEO, Liz has spent 34 years advocating for accessible, person-centered care for the people we serve.

Storytelling is part of my DNA.

Being instructed NOT to tell a story goes against the very essence of my heart and soul. That said, for the past week, I did as instructed and kept this particular story to myself.

Thankfully, my period of imposed silence has come to an end and I can finally share the news.

I am honored to be among the 25 Western New York women named as @bflobizfirst 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬. This is the 20th group to be honored since Business First established the awards in 2007, bringing the number of Women of Influence honorees to 500.

My sincere thanks to Buffalo Business First and the members of its editorial staff who served as judges, along with 𝐒𝐲𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐭 senior vice president and chief development officer at @btpmpbs; 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐭𝐨𝐧, managing partner at @lumsdencpa; 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐲𝐧𝐭, partner at @lipsitzponterio and 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐧, CEO of the Buffalo Federation of Neighborhood Centers, Inc.

Being selected as a 2026 Buffalo Business First Woman of Influence is an honor that will forever be a defining moment in my career.

Most significantly, I want to thank the two people who made it their mission to dig into my patchwork career and push and prod those details into a nomination that not only earned me this wonderful honor, but provided me with a reflection of the place I hold in their lives—as their mother.

Thank you, @lisabethabt for your discerning eye for detail and organizational excellence.

Thank you, James Abt @btsdesigns for once again proving that you are the most talented writer in our family.

Sharing this moment with you both—and knowing that you helped make it possible—makes this honor extraordinarily meaningful.

Repost @bflobizfirst

The food hall is rebranding for the fourth time in a decade, but the new owner says she’s in it for the long run and plans to expand offerings and marketing efforts.
