Last night was @bgsubuck’s final episode of @latenightseth and Corrections so to commemorate the occasion (and to repay @sethmeyers for the lovely signed mug he’d sent me last month), I had this “The Buck laughs stop here!” mug made and sent to Seth’s PO Box. It was nice to see that it was featured and I hope it soothes @justwatch1984 as he adjusts to life with a bit less laughter.

Also, I’m not gonna lie seeing Buck sign off at the end of this week’s Corrections really got to me. Getting to meet him (ever so briefly) when @nikiagogo and I were in the audience a little over a year ago is a moment I will always treasure and while I’m sad to see him leaving Corrections, I’m so grateful for the moments that I’ve been able to celebrate him over the last few years.

Go forth, gentle Buck, may you prosper in your new role at the @todayshow, but know that you will always be missed at Studio 8G!

Special weekend report

The phone rings. I look and see that someone is buzzing the apartment from the entrance call box. Highly unusual. I answer and the voice says “FedEx for Darryl.” I let him in. Now I’m REALLY confused because I wasn’t expecting anything to be delivered. Intriguing . . .

While I’m waiting for the parcel to be dropped off at the door, a voice way down in the bottom of my mind whispers “I’ll bet it’s from @sethmeyers.” When I pick up the box at my door and check, sure enough, it’s been sent from 30 Rockefeller Plaza. I open it up and inside is a handwritten note from Seth (“Darryl, Thanks for the gear! -Seth”) and another box with a signed Jackal mug!

What an incredibly thoughtful gesture. This means the world to me right now. Just last night I went to bed feeling a bit glum after learning the news that @bgsubuck, the @latenightseth crew member that I’ve made no secret is my absolute favourite, will be moving on to the @todayshow in the New Year. Then, not 12 hours later, my spirits are lifted with this delightful surprise!

Thank you to Seth and everyone at Studio 8G, all the best to Buck in the new gig and long live Late Night! 🙏❤️🎉

Prof. Jasmine Crighton and SMC students attended @irts.foundation seminars in New York City last week.

The students, all executive staff members of @bgfalconmedia - attended the Future Media Leaders Career Workshop where they learned about career opportunities and interviewed with recruiters across the media industry.

Prof. Crighton also caught up with SMC alumnus @bgsubuck who works at @latenightseth and other shows at 30 Rock.
