My two years at Blackhawk College taught me so much about what it truly means to be a student athlete, and how to navigate being a good person on and off the course. I can’t thank Coach Shepherd, and Coach Perez enough for getting me through the toughest times and helping to me advance my career. I would also like to thank all the staff at Blackhawk, they are truly one of a kind. With that being said after deep conversations with my family and coach Steve Johnson, I am excited to announce I have committed to Greensboro College in North Carolina. I look forward to all that’s to come in these next few years. Once again thank you to my family and friends for all the support.

Go Lions!

In brutal conditions, Chase found himself 4-over through his first 6 holes. At that point, the round could have gone one of two ways. He could have packed it in and decided it just wasn’t his day. Instead, he responded the way great players do. He buckled down, settled in, and played bogey-free, 4-under golf the rest of the way to capture his first collegiate victory. He was the only player in the field at Even Par or better.

Chase is a great example of how off-season work can translate immediately when the spring season arrives. He has put in the time to get faster and stronger. He has sharpened his baselines and developed a shot pattern that holds up in all conditions, and this week that work showed up in a big way.

He’s won at every level, and this is just the first of many at the collegiate level.

Opening day at Byron Hills: Smooth 66 for Mason Smyser. Do yourself a favor and make sure you swipe to the end to see the incredible swing transformation!

What makes his 66 in early March even more exciting is the work behind it. Mason has put in serious effort transforming his body and improving his speed numbers along the way.

Three years ago when I started working with him, he was a kid with raw talent. Now, he is developing into an elite player.

Our last session continued to focus on building a setup that matches his desired ball flight and tightening up his start lines. The progress is real, and there is a lot more in front of him. I love helping players like Mason realize their true potential.

The sky is the limit. 📈
