Global Offering is a fund that we take up annually to support gospel access throughout the world. This year, we provided resources to one of our partners in East Africa, SOMA. Hear how they are equipping local pastors with Biblical resources to teach sound doctrine in an area where the prosperity gospel is prevalent.

How has God called you and your family to give sacrificially to the Global Offering this year?

Mid-Term is for people who are willing to spend a summer, a semester, or even a couple years sharing the gospel and contributing to church-planting efforts around the globe. It is great for anyone trying to discern readiness, opportunity, or desire for being a long-term missionary!

This works for:
- A college student who wants to invest their summer for the gospel.
- A student who has college requirements to live abroad for a semester.
- A recent graduate who isn’t sure what the next steps are, but longs to share the name of Jesus.
- A single who has a couple months to live abroad and share Jesus with the needy world.
- A couple who wants to use their giftings for the Kingdom.
- A family who wants to see if Long-Term Missions is doable for them.
- A retired single or couple with knowledge and experience who want to spend some of their retirement serving overseas.
- Anyone who wants to see what serving God in a cross-cultural setting looks like!

Got questions? We’d love to talk to you about it. DM this account or reach out to Andrew@brookhills.org

The whole reason our partner, The Footstool Project, exists is to carry the Good News of Jesus Christ to the remote, unreached people of Nepal’s Himalayas. An essential part of the work is their Remote Mobile Discipleship Training Program, which trains students from Tibetan Buddhist backgrounds who have found faith in Christ to equip them to return to their villages to provide health and hygiene programs while also carrying out evangelism and, prayerfully, discipleship.

We at Brook Hills have been actively involved in this program for the past few years through your giving to the Global Offering. This week, we’re not only asking you to consider giving to the Global Offering to help us continue this work, but we’re also asking you to lift up these students in prayer, asking God to grant them boldness and to use them mightily to carry His gospel to the peoples of Nepal’s Himalayas. Read more about the Footstool Project and their work on our blog. #allinforallnations #joytotheworld #bhlifetogether

“We started leading the medical trips to North Africa in 2013. Nancy and I just took our 11th trip there. We love it! I love serving with my wife because she is so much fun to be around. But growing in Christ together has been the best thing about leading the efforts in North Africa. To see Nancy minister to women who have never heard of Christ and to see her in her element has been such a blessing. Each time we go, the Holy Spirit does something incredible.”

Charlie and Nancy Haines are faithful leaders for our Short-Term Medical Teams in North Africa. Because of their ALL IN faithfulness, the Holy Spirit has given Brook Hills deep relationships with the local church in a country where less than 1% of the population are Evangelical Christians. When Charlie and Nancy first started going, the local believers who were hosting our teams were scared to share the gospel with their Muslim neighbors who were coming into the medical clinics. Charlie and Nancy made a shift, and our teams began spending concentrated time encouraging and strengthening those local believers. Since that time, God has grown the faith of our brothers and sisters there. They are now confident to pray and share the gospel. They no longer wait on our team to initiate gospel conversations anymore. Many are hearing of Christ for the first time. #bhmissiontogether #allinforallnations

“I believe that for someone to be saved they must know Jesus. But how are they to know about Jesus unless someone tells them? So, I tell people about Jesus. But there are a lot of people who don’t have Christians around them to tell them about Jesus. So, I pray for unreached people groups to hear the gospel, and my family prays for the people who go and tell them. To help us pray, my family has a jar of popsicle sticks with the names of people written on them, and at dinner time, we each take a popsicle stick and pray for the name of the person on the stick. It could be people in our family, missionaries, unreached people groups, or our friends. But it helps us stay focused and remember who to pray for on a regular basis.”

As an eighth grader, Dani Bean is ALL IN. He tries to be faithful to tell people about Jesus and to join his family when they spend time praying for those in their lives to be faithful as well. #bhmissiontogether #allinforallnations

“I really wanted to have a heart for the unreached, so I began to pray for God to give it to me. And he did. It was around that time that a lady in my small group mentioned Julia, a Brook Hills Long-Termer in North Africa. She was a single lady, like me, and she really desired our small group to pray for Julia and be involved in her work. So after that, I could not get Julia and the people she worked with off my mind and heart. While Julia was in the states this summer, she and I spent time together. We realized we had a lot in common, and we quickly became good friends. She asked me to lead her advocacy team, and we had our first meeting in October. As her A-Team, we commit to be in her inner circle, to know her struggles and successes, to meet monthly for prayer, and to do our best to care for her while she is on the field. Being on her A-Team is making me grow spiritually. I hope to go see her one day soon so we can visit and participate in the work she is doing in North Africa.”

Georganne has an ALL IN story as Julia’s A-Team leader. Each Brook Hills long-term worker has an A-Team — a group of people who commit to care for those we’ve sent out. To be the link back to the faith family. Georganne is ALL IN as she leads this group to pray for Julia and care for her personally. Our missionaries are normal people, and they need the church who sent them to also participate in sustaining them. God is using this ALL IN partnership to advance His kingdom through Julia in North Africa and through members of her A-Team in Birmingham. #bhmissiontogether #allinforallnations

“We like to pray, and we use the cards every night before bed to flip through all of the missionaries. We pray for them because they tell people about Jesus, and we want people to know about Jesus. We want them to know that they are doing a good job sharing the gospel.”
—
Ayla Hailston (8), along with her mom, Tiffany, and little sister, Eva, are ALL IN as they faithfully pray for members who have been sent out from Brook Hills to serve around the world. Prayer fuels the missional strategy of the church. God wants us to pray for those who have been sent out. God wants us to pray for people who need Him. Prayer is critical and necessary for the mission He has called us to. Ayla and her family are participating in the ALL IN as they simply engage God and ask for His glory among all nations. #bhmissiontogether #allinforallnations
