21 voters that know RMAC Football submitted their ballots, ranking the teams based off of how they are playing at this point in the season.

CSU Pueblo is still playing the best football and remains the team to beat. The ThunderWolves took 18 of the 21 first place votes and 207 points to hold the top spot, with Western Colorado right behind them at 191 points and getting the other 3 first place votes.

CO Mines holds the No. 3 spot after beating CO Mesa in Grand Junction to take home the Nyikos Cup.

BHSU climbs to No. 5 after winning the Black Hills Brawl over SD Mines, and Chadron State stays at No. 7 after their 69-0 shutout of Adams St to get their first RMAC win of the season.

Who is ranked too high and who is too low?

BHSU won the 141st Black Hills Brawl last night (10/17/26), knocking off (RV) SD Mines 21-13 in Rapid City to bring the Homestake Trophy back to Spearfish.

The Yellow Jackets set the tone early, marching 75 yards on the opening drive for their 4th opening drive TD of the season and building a 21-0 lead before the Hardrockers got on the board just before halftime.

The Yellow Jackets’ defense had a bend but don’t break demeanor. BHSU forced the game’s only turnover, came up with two 4th down stops in the second half, and held the Hardrockers to just 2 field goals after the break.

Bryce Coulson stepped up big on special teams with a 69-yard punt return for a TD, the first of his career to go along with his 3 kickoff returns for TDs.

Leading BHSU to the win were:
🏈 Kade Weber, 9 Cmps on 16 Atts for 101 Yds & 1 TD to go along with 48 rushing Yds;
🏈 Wyatt Trembly, 15 Carries for 59 Yds & 1 TD;
🏈 Jayden Williams, 3 Recs for 57 Yds;
🏈 Joseph Randle, 4 Recs for 28 Yds & 1 TD;
🏈 Bryce Coulson, 3 Punt Returns for 100 Yds & 1 TD;
🏈 Jayshon Liles, 12 Tackles (3 Solo & 9 Ast) with 2 TFLs;
🏈 Caden Stansbury, 10 Tackles (2 Solo & 8 Ast) with 1/2 a TFL; &
🏈 Jacob Nelson, 8 Tackles (1 Solo & 7 Ast) with 1 TFL.

With BHSU’s win, the road team has now won 6 straight Black Hills Brawls.

The Yellow Jackets return home to Lyle Hare Stadium next Saturday (10/24) to host No. 6 Western CO at 1:00 (MT).
