What better way to spend a Sunday than with family + friends on my beloved boat...

How is it nearly Christmas??

I’ve been a little inconsistent recently with the holiday season and also a tad demotivated trying to figure out the new Instagram algorithm but I thought I’d share a quick look at the fun side of my December so far 🎄

Also I am incredibly proud of the fact that I have somehow stuck to my ten before the end for once!!! 😭 my last read of this year is probably going to be the Raven Scholar which will take me to 9/10 of the ten before the end read.

How much progress have you made on your ten before the end or December tbr? And any plans over the holiday period?

Sunday Special Editions stack ft a little bit of a Sunday shelfie with my new bookshelves!!! 📚

QOTD: what is your favourite special edition? Or what do you like most about special editions?

I am slightly obsessed with sprayed edges at this point and this past year has seen my special editions collection go from maybe one or two sprayed edges… to somehow having enough to make this stack which is in part thanks to the bookstagram community! My wallet is not thanking you all but I can’t lie and say I regret any of those purchases 😂

Thank you for the special edition stack tag @books.and.jessica ❤️ I’ve tagged a few friends on this post to show off their special editions too but no pressure 🫶 also huge credit to whoever started the twisty stacks trend, I can’t find who originally did this but I’ve seen quite a few popping up the past few months and I could not wait to try this set up!

Birthday Flatlay Friday 🎈🎂

Thank you for the favourite author flatlay tag @megs_library23 🫶 to no one’s surprise I’m sure, this of course goes to @veschwab! As a VE Schwab fan since roughly 2015, this past year has been the most insane time 🖤 I became a bookseller, used my adult money to buy the @owlcrate editions of the darker shade trilogy, got to talk to her at a signing for the first time ever (where she wrote on a post it note giving me permission to borrow a bones proof from a friend who was kind enough to let me keep the post it too 😂), soon after I got my first VE Schwab proof Bury Our Bones which by the way IS INCREDIBLE on a side note and finally I got to attend the most amazing talk in London for publication!!

Fingers crossed for this next year, it’s very weird being 24 but doing this bookstagram has been one of the highlights of this year so thank you all for sticking around to see me yap about books 🥰

I’ve tagged a few people but do let me know if you want to be tagged in the future!!

🍓Red but not Read + Friday Flatlay 🍓

QOTD: what colour are most of the books on your bookshelf?

So I finally managed to do this one after literally months of waiting for red books to appear on my bookshelf 😂 Thank you for tagging me on this one @alexabutmorefun, I got there… eventually❤️

I’ve tagged a few people on this challenge but no pressure and if you want to be tagged next time do let me know in the comments or DMs!

In terms of life updates, it is BEYOND hot in the UK at the moment and I’m slowly melting but on the plus side I got this bottle to do iced tea at home and it is actually heavenly! If you are also experiencing the heat at the moment, I hope you’re all staying cool (take this as a take a hydrate reminder)!!

Carrot Juice Tag 🥕💚🧡

Thanks @ralph_reads_books for tagging me!!! And thanks @_bookswithgrace_ for creating the tag!!

🥕 Carrot: favourite cinnamon roll MMC
This was tough cause I love cinnamon roll characters, but I think my fav has to be Levi from Fangirl. Something about “read to me, sweetheart” gets me every time.

🧃 Juice: drama filled book
The entire Vampire Academy series is the drama and I remember absolutely devouring these books.

🌱 Stem: your favourite nerdy character
I have to agree with @ralph_reads_books on this one, Emily Wilde is such a well written character. I loved how she always stuck to her priorities and academic goals!

🌷 Garden: favourite hockey romance
This might be a little biased because I’ve only ever read Elle Kennedy hockey romance, but I love her Briar U and Off-Campus series. I chose The Deal as my favourite because it was my first one, but in reality it’s probably tied with The Dixon Rule and The Risk.

🫧 Bubbles: book that was so good you forgot you were reading
Six of Crows!!! It was a slow start but I ended up feeling so immersed in the world and captivated by the plot that I completely lost track of time reading this!

🍊 Orange: your favourite book
I will never be decisive enough to pick just one favourite book. It’s a tie between: The Summer I Turned Pretty, which is so nostalgic for me and probably my most re-read book, A Darker Shade of Magic, and This Savage Song.

I’ve tagged a few people but no pressure to partake! Also let me know if you’d like to be tagged in future challenges!

✨15 Book Challenge✨

I saw someone suggest this version of the 15 book challenge, but I haven’t been able to find this post again. If you see it, let me know so I can tag the creator!

For this challenge I chose: what I believe to be the most criminally underrated books, some of my favourite popular books that deserve all the hype they get, and some really popular books that I just don’t really get the hype for 🤷‍♀️

I’ve tagged some people, but consider yourself tagged if you’d like to participate in this challenge!

🌅 Sunset book Tag 🌅

Thank you for the tag @rhyss_left_toe , I finally got to this (I’m slow but I do get there eventually 😂) and it was so much fun to put together! I’ve tagged a few people to try this challenge but do consider yourself tagged if you want to try too!!

🌷Pink Sunset: a book that makes you happy
You might’ve noticed this already but I tend to read sad books so this is actually pretty hard 😅
Legend and Lattes by Travis Baldree
+ One for the past- Percy Jackson and The Chalice of the Gods by Rick Riordan (complete nostalgia moment)

🌆 Golden Sunset: a book you’d love to read on the beach
Funny Story by Emily Henry- this one I’d totally re- read on holiday anyyy day.
Captain of Fates by Katherine Webber- my first ever pirate read (in Mermay ✨)

🌸Cotton Candy sunset: favourite character development
Kaz Brekker- the way this man started off with so much trauma and made so many steps throughout the duology towards being more open and working through his past 🥹
Will Herondale- you’re probably seeing a running theme here (I love a sad man doing his best)
Lila Bard- what a Queen, I loved seeing her achieve her dreams but also allowing herself to get attached and care for things 💕

🌇 Purple Sunset: A series you want more of
Hunger Games one hundred percent but also I trust Suzanne Collins to know when to stop so if this is all we get then that’s fine 🫶

Thank you for tagging me in this challenge @booksbymmiria ❤️

So much fun and surprisingly difficult! 😊 I could’ve filled the entire 5 Books I love category with @veschwab books but resisted the temptation… barely. It also made me realise how many crime and mystery books I’ve read since getting into audiobooks (definitely recommend trying at least one crime novel audiobook!) 🕵️‍♀️

Tagging a few who might be up for this challenge but no pressure and please join in tag or no tag!! Love to see what everyone is reading! 📚
