2020, what can I say? You were the ghetto and tbh I’m not used to that but here’s to the people and memories that made me feel special and love all 366 days this year.

To my best friends and my closest tribe shown and not shown, I love you guys. Let’s think about this year as lessons learned and conquer 2021 with the same finesse and tenacity.

Cheers motherfuckers 🥂 this photo dump is for you

The amount of chickpeas I’ve eaten in the last two weeks is pretty impressive. They’re so versatile, delicious in every way and fast becoming my favourite legume. Doubles are hands down one of the best ways to enjoy chick peas. This popular Trinidadian street food can easily be made plant based by replacing the ghee in the bara recipe with oil and I couldn’t have been happier when I discovered that. If you’re looking for me over the next few days I’ll be gorging on doubles at my local vendor 🤤🤤
Interested in seeing the process of how @big.nik taught me to make doubles? You can find the walkthrough in my “Doubles” story highlight.

If there’s one thing I distinctly remember from my trip to Trinidad it‘s eating fresh doubles right on the street while trying to stop the juice from running down my arm 🤤😂. There really is nothing as authentic as having food in the country in which it originates but when you don’t have a horse you ride a cow. This week the cravings started to get the best of me and I needed a solution ASAP. Luckily my girl @big.nik knows how to make doubles from scratch and I asked if she’d come over to give me a masterclass. The result was some of the most authentic tasting doubles I’ve had this side of the Caribbean Sea 🤤. If you’d like to see how the doubles came together and for more of my masterclass experience you can check out my “Doubles” highlight. Thanks for the masterclass @big.nik 🙏🏽✨
