Big Ass Manatee in their reflective 3M jackets + some buds on some b&w 35mm film that’s over 40 years old, not unlike most of the attendees of this show.

More to come!

Morgantown, ya still got it! @123pleasant @bigassmanatee This was the closest I’ll ever come to a high school reunion… except I was in college and didn’t have class with any of these amazing people! 🪩

TONIGHT marks the return of the iconic Mayday! Mayday! dance party to Morgantown.

Mayday took form in 2003 with DJ’s spinning a variety of new-wave and synth pop tunes. It grew in popularity over time and themed events such as Prom and “Marchoween” were memory makers for whoever was lucky enough to remember them. Indie dance, electro, and house were the driving sounds of late until its last show in 2014.

Now 11 years later, Mayday is back for a one-time reunion show!

This show will feature a live performance from @bigassmanatee

DJ’s:
Team Spirit (@snackary_snyder, DC & @mr_vienna_sausage, WV)
@djbrianblackout aka @manotaur (Texas)
All-vinyl set from Don Merrill (@mattdmerrill, California)

Doors open at 8!

Only one more week until we get to boogie with each other again back home at @123pleasant. This one’s going to be ˳·˖✶⋆.✧̣̇𝓈𝓅𝑒𝒸𝒾𝒶𝓁✧̣̇.⋆✶˖·˳

Here’s a few fun things to expect 2/28:

Our bootylicious brethren and honorary maidez house band @bigassmanatee will be serving 90s and 00s pop-pulp for the masses. Protip: bring herbal tea if you want to be able to speak on Saturday after scream-singing along on Friday.

Disc Jockeys @djbrianblackout @mattdmerrill @mr_vienna_sausage and @snackary_snyder will be sonically rounding out the beginning and ending of the evening.

@graysonhallphoto will be floating through the crowds capturing the evening for posterity. So be on your best behavior. Or your worst—we won’t yuck your yum.

Some merch will be available if you want to take a piece of mayday home. We’ll have embroidered hats and a live screen printing station by @annmarievantassell (shirts and coozies available or BYO totes, sweaters, undies, whatever)

And in support of the 2/28 national economic boycott, the @acluwv will have a table and be available to speak about direct action opportunities to help wv communities, even if you have moved out of state (Temporarily Embarrassed Mountaineer).

We’re so excited to see you again so soon. Tickets available at the link in our bio. Let’s dance.

Dipping back to ‘09 for one night feels REAL good right about now. We’re very stoked to put on our dancing shoes and see old friends. Hope you’ll be one of them. 2/28/25 at the usual spot. Tickets on sale at the link in bio if you’re so inclined. See you there for one more time.
