Nestled inside a historic vine covered Victorian storefront 🌿, @bigbearcafe feels straight out of a storybook! They serve delicious breakfast favorites, like their wood fired bagels, and pizzas in the evenings. I love their spacious (dog friendly) patios, which are perfect in the autumn! 🍂🐻
Make sure to check out their happy hour, and Sunday Bloomingdale Farmer’s market (year-round). They are truly a staple in the Bloomingdale and wider DC community. ♥️

Historic on the outside. 🪄 Contemporary on the inside.

From the street, you'd never guess what's waiting inside this historic Bloomingdale row home in Washington, DC.

A few of my favorite features:

✨ The ceilings. And I mean HIGH ceilings. Not the kind that sound impressive in a listing description, only for you to walk in and feel catfished 😂 These are the kind that make you stop, look up, and wonder how all this space fits inside a historic DC row house. You really have to see them.

🍽️ The kitchen. Two oversized islands, gorgeous Poggenpohl cabinetry, and appliances by Sub-Zero, Wolf, Miele, and Gaggenau. You can cook, prep with friends, host a dinner party, and STILL have room for everyone to hang out. It's a kitchen that's a showstopper, but works in real life, too.

🏙️ The rooftop. Your own private rooftop terrace with a second, fully equipped kitchen and views of the U.S. Capitol, Washington Monument, and DC skyline. Dinner up here? Yes, please. And the best part? You're not running up and down the stairs for everything. The kitchen has what you need.

🌿 The unexpected peace and quiet. This might be one of my favorite surprises. You're tucked above the street, surrounded by natural light and views of neighborhood greenery and McMillan Reservoir. There's a wonderful indoor-outdoor connection, and despite being in the heart of the city, the home feels like a retreat.

🚗 The parking. Private, gated parking with EV charging. If you've ever searched for parking in DC, you know what a luxury this is. And it's a security benefit, too.

☕ The neighborhood. Bloomingdale has a great local feel. Think coffee @bigbearcafe dinner @redhendc , Sundays at the @bloomingdalefarmersmarket.dc and green space at the Reservoir District and @crispusattucksparkdc So much of what makes this neighborhood special is you actually enjoy every day in it.

Not your typical DC condo.

If you're looking for a three-bedroom home or penthouse in Bloomingdale or Northwest DC, I'd love to show you this one.

DM to schedule a private tour!

A Summer wedding at Big Bear for Peter & Kim.

Cozy chats with those you love, comfort food, and changing into sweats for the dance floor. It was the wedding they wanted and the day they needed.

Stoked to be at @bloomingdalefarmersmarket.dc this Sunday 10/18 from 9-1! LGV & fam were Bloomingdale residents before we moved to Mt Rainier, so it's great to be heading back. See y'all there?

This sweet bb went to the best new home at @annmariearts Artsfest a couple of weeks ago 🌸

My inspiration for this piece came from my neighboring stand, @beeswingfarm_flowers at @bloomingdalefarmersmarket.dc ! Their butterfly ranunculus this spring were so dainty and whimsical, I had to make them into my flower women.

Can’t wait to be back at Bloomingdale Farmers Market this Sunday 9-1!
