Happy 1 Year to the release of “Restart Baby”✨

While I have other (unreleased🫣) music that I absolutely love, this one is extra special to me. The irony of this song being a bit of an Ode to the genius that IS D’ Angelo, and his passing being the day before I released it was bittersweet to say the least.

So here’s 🥂 to D’ Angelo, Black Music, Life, Legacy, and Restarting, baby🥰✨🤎

VERSION 4: THE DUB VERSION

Produced by Grammy-winning producer, writer and guitarist Dana Johnson. @bigdane1973

This is exactly why I wanted to do Young, Sad & Blue (Reimagined).

I gave these producers the same vocal I recorded in 1998 and gave them the freedom to hear something I couldn’t hear myself.

Dana took it somewhere completely unexpected.

Same voice. Same lyrics. Same emotion.

But put that vocal inside a different musical world and suddenly the song becomes something else entirely.

That’s the beauty of reimagining a record instead of simply remaking it.

YOUNG, SAD, AND BLUE: REIMAGINED 💗💙

It’s official. My debut EP arrives October 2, 2026.

I took a song from another chapter of my life and gave it a new life, a new sound, and a new story. Six versions. Six different interpretations. One song that has somehow found its way back to me all these years later.

This project is about more than revisiting the past. It’s about what happens when you give yourself permission to reimagine who you are, what you created, and what’s still possible.

I’ve been seeing #EricRoberson live for 25 years, and the whole time he’s been a cheatcode for a date night. Me and hot date @tammypics got to see Eric’s new improv show - Super dope, super creative.

And I got my book signed, “Beautifully All Over the Place” a great daily read.

And it’s always good to run into my guy @bigdane1973
