Sharing my special goodbye to Eyewitness News with my wife made for one of the most memorable nights of my entire life. Thanks to friends like @freddybmason and @laurenglassberg for making it so, but none of it would have been possible without @debragianettino @chadmatthews and @marilugalvez. They are bosses who have supported me and nurtured me over many years. Almost one year ago today I was deployed with @teamrubiconusa to provide humanitarian aid to the victims of one of the worst super typhoons to ever hit Asia. Typhoon Haiyan was devastating and the scale of disaster was unprecedented. I was honored to be able to provide a small amount of assistance along with a team of 60 other veterans. One small bright spot in an otherwise supremely challenging situation (one of our surgeons had to perform surgery on himself by flashlight) was running into my first TV producer and friend Matt Mcfetridge. Matt gave me my baptism by fire during my first journalism assignment in Afghanistan. Good to see you brother. A year late but it's up.
