This week wraps a chapter of some of the most beautiful free community magic Reno has ever seen.

I moved to Reno 11 years ago thinking I’d stay for a year.

Then I found an epic community of humans I had never found before… and I stayed.

This is my HOME. And honestly, it’s because of each of you.

I’ve always believed in the power of art and creativity to bring people together. In giving talented people a place to share what they make. In creating spaces where you can show up not knowing anyone and leave feeling a little more connected.

That’s what these last few summers have been about.

And when I look back, it’s not really the events I remember most.

It’s the PEOPLE.

The musician who got a stage.
The kiddos dancing in the plazas.
The friends who met up every week.
The strangers who became friends.
The people who came alone and found themselves part of something.

It’s the little moments you probably didn’t think twice about that I’ll remember forever.

None of this happens without the people willing to dream it up, build it, perform in it, support it and say YES to making something beautiful for their community.

So, a really heartfelt THANK YOU to the humans who poured so much of themselves into these summers:

Flip and the @offbeatfest crew.
David, Lauren, Christian and the @biggestlittletribe family.
Kylie and everyone at @therenophil.

And to the countless artists, musicians, small businesses, volunteers and behind-the-scenes humans who gave their time, talent, energy and heart.

You made this.
We made this.

And that’s what makes me emotional about it.

Because 11 years ago, I thought I was passing through Reno.

Instead, I found a community that made me want to stay.

These moments fuel my soul. They remind me why I’m here, why I stayed, and why I’ll keep fighting for art, creativity, connection and the people who make this place so damn special.

Reno, I love you.

Thank you for giving me a home.

Here’s to the people who make this place what it is.

Let’s keep making magic.

Seven years. From our families to yours, THANK YOU!

When we opened Black Rabbit, we dreamed of creating more than a meadery, bar, and music venue. We wanted to build a true third space… a place where strangers become friends, artists find an audience, milestones are celebrated, and everyone feels like they belong. Looking back over the last seven years, that’s what we’re most grateful for.

These walls have held so much life. Birthday parties, first dates, wedding celebrations, fundraisers, spontaneous bar hangs that turned into lifelong friendships, and countless nights filled with laughter. They’ve also been home to the creatively unexpected—epic drag shows, poetry nights, shibari workshops, Shakespeare in the Bar, charity trivia, bingo, singer-songwriter sessions, live music, OffBeat Music Festival, Heartbeat Fest, Brew Bike pit stops, family days, and so many moments that could only happen at Black Rabbit.

At our core, we’ve always been committed to celebrating all things local and creatively energized. From our weekly farmers market to supporting local artists, musicians, nonprofits, makers, and small businesses, we’ve believed that the best communities are built by lifting each other up.

To every team member—past and present—who helped shape Black Rabbit, thank you. To our community partners who dreamed alongside us, thank you. And to every person who has ever walked through our doors, raised a glass, discovered a new artist, celebrated a milestone, or simply made this place part of your life… thank you. We truly wouldn’t be here without you.

Here’s to seven years of community, connection, creativity, and great mead.

Cheers, friends.

Now tell us: What’s your favorite Black Rabbit memory? We’d love to hear your stories in the comments.
