41 years ago today this image appeared in an Ottawa Canada newspaper.

Initially, I did not recognize it, but then it made sense.

Nadi Shodhana, or alternate nostril breathing.

It appeared in an article attempting to help people coping with nicotine withdrawal.

The article began: "So your spouse, in an unprecedented bid to become independent, pledged to become a non-smoking citizen July 1 and now is growling at everyone including the kids. What to do?"

The reporter said that several spouses had contacted the newspaper to complain about a "sagging marriage and constant confrontation between parent and children in the wake of nicotine withdrawal symptoms."

And so to the rescue came Nadi Shodhana.

Have you practiced this? If so, what situations have you used it, and has it helped?
