Meet @flothedj, our headline act for this year’s @geddonpz Summer Party at the @ritzpenzance. Flo started djing about 6 years ago in her mid twenties. “Our mates were always having house parties, and there were always decks so I got into it. I started out playing house music and classic dance tracks, but over time I evolved. I love a bit of deep house, trance, stuff that’s quite ethereal and takes you to another place.” Flo moved to Penzance in 2018 from Bath but is a proper rural girl, originally from the Somerset Levels. She moved to London, then to Bath, where she started dating a surfer, which typically brought her to Cornwall. And now… she’s OURS! ❤️‍🔥 Flo and her partner Chris live in Penzance with their gorgeous Bulgarian rescue pup, Fergal. You will find her sashaying around town creating content for her brand and for @wrenandraven, or slinging back £5 margs at @45queenstreet during happy hour. It’s safe to say, we’ve made a local out of this girl now. You may also recognise Flo from her shop on 62 Chapel Street. Her fashion brand @shadedthelabel sells clothing, accessories and is well known for their gorgeous hats, stocked exclusively in Wolf & Badger, London and Penzance. Always into maximalist styling, over the top everything, I knew I wanted Flo’s vibey energy for our Geddon PZ Summer Party last year - she gets the memo, then runs with it 💥 Flo is an exciting and eccentric DJ, a vision, always power dressing, always engaging to watch. Dancing to someone who is vibing to the music they’re playing always creates a great energy on the dancefloor. “I love taking people on a journey, starting off with some beats that get you dancing, then going into a heavier bassline, before bringing it back in with some more dancey, floaty stuff.” Flo has played in London, Ibiza, Dominican Republic and now is a popular act in Cornwall, previously a resident dj at The Wildes, and is also playing at @rockoysterfestival this summer 🌞 Flo's a resident dj for @system.works_, playing at @the.balnooninn and @covecafehaylebeach. What a weekend PZ ❤️ @pzfoodfestival and all their traders smashed it and the people of Penzance showed up to eat, drink and slide in the mud for them 👣 @ritzpenzance was so much fun, everyone enjoying themselves and raving about how much they love Penzance. Topped it off with @anella_bar_kitchen_pz and more eating on Sunday. Round, happy and so so tired 😴
