Holy shnikeys! It’s been such a busy week around Ye Olde Cycle Shoppe here that we completely forgot to post about the fact that ON👏 THURSDAY👏 WE👏 ARE👏 RIDING👏 BIKES👏. This week let’s bust a cereal potluck up at Inspiration Point. All you need to bring is yer favorite cereal we’ll haul all the extra accoutrement for both vegans and normies. Seems like a wholesome thing to do. We forgot to post this Monday like we usually do so make sure to tag your homies and spread the word! To aggregate our little squad of gremlins before takeoff, we meet off to the side of the entrance of the Venice Pier at 7:00PM and roll out at 7:30PM.

This Thursday is a Thursday where we will be riding bikes. Seasons of change are upon us and summers gonna be over before we know it. Let’s get together and do the thing we like to do where we ride bikes and party on the beach, eh?? To schedule in a touch of novelty - this weeks ride will also mark the first 🥇Thursday World Championship of Carrying Stuff🥇. We encourage all riders to bring as much stuff as they physically can. Food, lawn chairs, wiffle ball, blankets, firewood, cans of drink, you name it. LOAD THAT FUCKER DOWN. Thee rider who shall carryeth the most shit shall be awarded a prize of grandeur at the awards ceremony at the fire pit. SEE YA THURSDAY.

My oldest friend Mike Wittig drove down from the Bay Area just so we could revisit our beloved teenage years hobby of RC car building, bashing, and racing. We tried our best to keep our vintage gold pan @teamassociatedrc cars on this very rough track, had many crashes and needed to make numerous repairs, but we managed to race for at least an hour on a single battery pack. Then we went down the Venice skate park for some sunset, sand rail, fun with a @traxxas Bandit. We wrapped up at @wurstkuche with some damn good German beers and Brats!

Wowwwwwww guess what…. we are hosting @venicepedalclub tomorrow! Bring lawn chairs, RC cars, and swimming gear. This here’s gonna be an amazing sunset down at Charlie Beach in MDR followed by an afters seshie at @hinanovenice You know what to do! Barely wear clothes, jump in the sea, and bark at the sunset like a dog. It’s summer - and it’s worth celebrating.

Tomorrow we’re riding bikes! 7PM at the Venice Pier and a prompt 7:30 rollout so we can catch a good sunset. A simple week - well roll to the South Bay for hangs at Redondo Pier. If you’re new to bikes and want to push it just a little bit in a safe controlled environment - welcome! This is a great week for someone’s first Thursday Ride. There’s only about 1 total mile of riding off of the Marvin Braude Bikepath so the routings super easy! No real hills either. If 25 miles would be your longest ride ever, or in a while, we’d be stoked to have you out! Sooo yeah. Looking forward to it. See yall tomorrow.

This Thursday we are riding bikes! We’ll meet at the Venice Pier down here at 7:00 PM in the olde meeting place off to the southside of the entrance of the pier. The train rolls out at 7:30 PM! We used to be more flexy but we’re sorta changing that and rolling at 7:30 on the dot now. As we do, we’ll head up for some dirt in the Santa Monica Mountains. 20 miles and about 1,800 vert for this weeks party by bike. Bring a light, heck, bring two. Bring a helmet. Bring a dirt capable bike. Bring a friend.

Hope everyone had a fun weekend. It is Monday morning, and on Thursday we are going to ride bikes! Summer is here and we’re so stoked for warm night rides. Let’s do a good one this week and bust a ride up to the Nike Tower for a charcuterie freestyle battle. It’s been a minute and we’re all very due for a proper basketbike climber with a whole lot of snacks at the best view in the area. Our Tinned Fish Social rides usually have a challenging-ish route to a maximal woods-party. Bring a whole bunch, walk your bike a little bit, it’s awesome. To snack-max this thing let’s start this week over at @vinonrose in Venice. They’re a cool local business and they just opened this whole cheese emporium called Fromagerie next door that is amazing. I can’t think of a better place to start a Tinned Fish Social, I can’t believe we haven’t done it before. We’ll climb our group of bicycles up Mandeville to the Nike Tower, have a lovely time at the top with views and pleasantries, and then take the fire road down Sullivan Ridge back into town. There’s a lot of new ppl here on this IG page. Hello, hi, and welcome. If this is your first ride you’re considering doing with us that is awesome, we’re happy to have you. In my humble opinion, this is one of the best rides in the region. We’re going to post some highlighted stories for some good info on how to make riding a bike at night in a group as fun and safe as it can be. ————- Bikes rock, you rock, see you Thursday.

🎶”Topanga’s hot today, Manson’s in the air. And all my friends have gone, ‘cause they still feel him here🎶 THURSDAY NIGHT WE ARE RIDING BIKES…. The spirit of this Thursday ride lies in riding new trails. I’ve been getting asked “oh which route are we doing” a lot before Thursdays and that’s a bummer to me as I believe it’s against the ethos of our Thursdays. We switch it up every week, we try to include different stuff all the time. Seeing new trail is the entire point… “trail” being a loose word here that could include tunnels, alleys, fence lines, utility line roads, and everything in between. There are a lot of rides on Thursday nights in LA and if you’re looking for a homogenized group exercise that is ultra-consistent, Lazer tight timing-wise, and more resembles ClassPass… our ride isn’t for you! And that’s okay. We like to say our Thursday rides are for anybody, but not for “everybody”. At least not every week. You gotta have your wits about you, your gear in check, and a good ‘tude to get through a lot of these routes. This week we are mountain biking a big ol lollipop in Topanga. Bring your lights, bring a trail-appropriate bicycle, and let’s fucking get after it. Meet us in the mountains. We’ll roll out from the Topanga General Store at 7:00PM for a proper fuckin rippppa. We’ll keep it hondo, keep it hundo? We’re keeping it something alright. DM me for the route I’m intentionally keeping it off the public story this week.

Last nights Thursday night ride was awesome. We hit some seldom-riddens and followed that up with a stop at one of the best dives this side of the 405. It wasn’t easy to peel the crowd away from the tiki drinks at @purpleorchidtikilounge - that place is fucking awesome. The goal of the 2nd half of the ride was to circumnavigate LAX and cruise by the @metrolosangeles LAX Metro Station. Some folks still hadn’t used or seen that yet and it’s a quite impressive station. Very Jetsons vibe. Aviation and Westchester Parkway are both kinda big wide-open spinathons. If you time it right you can be riding your bike with a ‘yuge fuckin’ jet landing right over your head. At night on bikes with homies it’s kind of a vibe. I like it. All in all I dunno I didn’t track it. 22 miles? 25 miles? Something? Good work yall. We kept the pedals going pretty quickly and tiki-maxxed hard af. Proud of yall. Mucho luvvo and next week @school.rulebook is coming so you knowwwww it’s gotta be a heater of a Thursday.
