[ENGLISH BELOW] Czy mając czterdzieści lat, można mieszkać w przestrzeni zrodzonej z dziecięcej, nieposkromionej wyobraźni i mieć w niej wielką czerwoną rakietę, o której czytało się kiedyś w komiksach Hergégo? Owszem. Udowodnił to hiszpański architekt Bilbo García-Conde, przemieniając przedwojenny budynek w futurystyczny loft pełen koloru, humoru i nostalgii.

____

Can a forty-year-old live in a space born from a child's wild, untamed imagination — complete with a great red rocket straight out of a Hergé comic? Yes, apparently. Spanish architect Bilbo García-Conde proved just that, transforming a pre-war building into a futuristic loft full of colour, humour and nostalgia.

🟡 Casa Bilbo in Madrid: A Retro-Futuristic Eclectic Architect’s House 🟡

The Architect’s House explores homes conceived as both refuge and manifesto—spaces architects design for themselves, where daily life, personal values, and architectural thinking converge. Through these self-authored dwellings, the series reveals how architecture becomes an intimate act of inhabitation, experimentation, and self-reflection, offering rare insight into the discipline from the inside out.

Bilbo Garcia-Conde (@bilbogc), founder of @cdp.arquitectos, reimagines a 1930s corner building in Madrid as an industrial yet playful domestic landscape for himself, his partner @itziarmart, and their two Kanninchen dachshunds. Bold colors, exposed structural elements, and unexpected geometries converge with a carefully curated constellation of furnishings—found objects, second-hand pieces, and custom designs—to compose an eclectic, deeply personal, retro-futuristic house.
