Everyone is asking what they can AI out of their business. Jonathan Leaf from @bill_hq asks a different question: what can AI never replace?

Showing up at conferences. Knocking on a client's door. Shaking their hand. BILL has worked with some accounting firms for more than 15 years, and Jonathan says it isn't because of the technology. It's because those firms came to trust them.

When everyone is automating everything, showing up in person becomes the pattern interrupt. The rest of this conversation is linked in the comments.

💫 THE WOMAN YOU SHOULD KNOW: TARA WELLINGTON

Every week, we’re shining a light on an exceptional woman in our LinkUnite community, and this week, it’s Tara Wellington!

Tara is the VP of Product Management at BILL, where she leads product strategy and execution across Integrated Experience, BILL.AI, and Spend & Expense. Her career has been deeply rooted in small business technology, with previous leadership roles at PandaDoc and GoDaddy.

And we absolutely love having BILL as a LinkUnite partner and are thrilled to have Tara as part of our community!

With her passion for helping small and lower-middle-market businesses gain the visibility and decision-making power of much larger companies, Tara brings a perspective that is both strategic and incredibly relevant to so many of the conversations happening in our industry.

But here’s the real reason we want you to know Tara:

She’s someone worth having in your network. If you’re working in SaaS, AI, financial technology, product management, small business technology, expense management, credit/lending, or platform strategy, Tara brings a wealth of experience and perspective to the table.

So, LinkUnite community, connect with her! 👋

Drop a 👋 in the comments, say hello, or send Tara a connection request. You never know where one great connection can lead. That’s what LinkUnite is all about.

Connection. Community. Opportunity. ✨

After attending the @bill_hq Accountant Partner Council at the end of August, I was inspired to write about its overarching message, Human + AI.

Too often we are solving just for AI itself and the task it can do, rather than stepping back and creating a vision for the future culture and organization that is unlike no other because it is enhanced by AI.

Read more about how I apply it to The B3 Method® Institute Fulfillment ROI® Framework - https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/human-ai-formula-you-cant-have-one-without-other-amy-enl1c?

Wow! That’s how I felt after leaving the @bill_hq Accountant Partner Council in Sausalito last week. It was not only incredible to see all the innovation I. The product from the last year and what’s to come, but always fun to spend time with their team and colleagues and friends there!

The amount of AI innovation that they have implemented over the last year into the product to revolutionize the BILL workflow process was unreal. In all my time using and collaborating with them, I’ve never seen them drop more powerful features at once.

What I truly appreciate about this company and product is that everything is so thought out and they hold tight to what makes them unique - they build with internal controls in mind. It isn’t haphazard. It’s to ensure the small and mid-size businesses are protected from fraud and bad actors.

Secondly, they ensure the learn the accountant workflow to enhance it and surface information that’s needed. They aren’t trying to replace the accountant, they are collaborating side by side to understand what is non value-added work that they can take off the accountant’s plate and what would truly enhance the overall experience between them and their client.

Last, the overall theme was how all of their innovations uplevel the human relationships not take away. I have so much more to say about this in my upcoming LinkedIn article on what it means to truly develop this new Human + AI organization. In the meantime, knowing that a company has such a strong focus on deepening and leading the way in this area, rather than creating an AI product without the thoughtful consideration to the human impact of it was refreshing!

Kudos to @rlacerte, @ariegemisherghi and their entire team, @theaicpa cpa.com for great work and fabulous collaborative event! #cpa #accountant #humanai

@courtspritzer found her Lego look-alike at the @BILL_hq booth during Founders Weekend, and the pink outfit was never up for debate. Some decisions really are that easy.

Thank you BILL for bringing such a fun, memorable activation to the weekend. 🩷

I’ve been DJing for @bill_hq since 2017 and it’s always an honor to be apart of their annual events for their staff. This year they celebrated 20 years as a company and celebrated the different ‘eras’ the company has gone through. From its inception to now their current era. Cheers to another 20 years BILL! See you soon Draper family!

I taught @bill_hq a virtual smoothie class last week:

Vibrant NFT Smoothies

We did three blends together:

Berry Beet Blast
Green Almond Whip
Passion Fruit Glow

Comment "NFT" to learn what it means. Message me if you want to do an in-person or virtual smoothie class 💚
