FRIDAY, SEP. 04th::: EDITH STEYER & MAKOTO SAKAMOTO live at NOT YOUR PRAYERS vol. 02! https://www.facebook.com/events/1100867069264073/ EDITH STEYER & MOKOTO SAKAMOTO Edith Steyer::: clarinet, alto saxophone, preparations, electronics Makoto Sakamoto::: electronics Sakamoto and Steyer dive deep into the sonic possibilities that emerge from the interplay between Sakamoto’s versatile electronic setup and the warm, woody timbres of the clarinet and saxophone. Drawing on their distinct musical universes, Steyer/Sakamoto create a dynamic interplay of noise textures and melodic gestures. EDITH STEYER is a free improvising and composing clarinet and saxophone player, rooted in jazz and contemporary classical music. With a background in social anthropology, she also has a deep interest in ethnic and traditional music, which has led her to perform with West African ensembles alongside musicians from Senegal and Ghana. https://www.edith-steyer.de/ https://edithsteyer.bandcamp MAKOTO SAKAMOTO is a Berlin-based Japanese sound artist and composer whose practice is rooted in live improvisation and the creation of minimal, slowly evolving sound environments. Through noise, unconventional ambient textures, and drone-based sounds, his work unfolds in performances and installations as a present, situational state rather than a fixed form. https://makotosakamotorecordings.bandcamp.com/ https://www.instagram.com/makoto_sakamoto_recordings/ pics::: EDITH STEYER by BASTEK LAKAS MAKOTO SAKAMOTO by ARI MATSUOKA (live) & MASUMI SHISHIDO @mariasteyer5 @makoto_sakamoto_recordings @billbumpstead @galilaeakirche @bruital.events

UWE MEOLLHUSEN & TARUFU next week at NOT YOUR PRAYERS! https://www.facebook.com/events/1100867069264073/ The first public collaboration between Tarufu and U. Moellhusen What unites them is openness and their play with objects, yet at the same time there is a stark contrast between calm and nervous energy. Tarufu builds his music up slowly, only to let it fade away again at its climax. Moellhusen plays with interruptions and changes, while he lets collide different moods and sound sources. Where will their paths cross? A real-time experiment ... U Moellhusen a soundartist/-actionist, improvising with everything needed for a situational idea . Ignoring the techniques of conventional playing styles and musical disciplines, he finds and invents a music without boundaries. It is an escape from the prison of repetition into the vastness of irregularity and dirt. The impulse that emanates from the unexpected is his stimulus. https://elektroakustischegarage.bandcamp.com/music https://weltausstellung.bandcamp.com/ TARUFU Japanese musician, an experimental and abstract musician based in Berlin. Using a unique bone conduction technology and small speakers to create vibrational sonic landscapes with diverse objects. https://www.tarufu.com/ www.tarufu.com @tarufumusic @billbumpstead @galilaeakirche @bruital.events

A.V.SUALS X GROWTHRINGS next week IN BERLIN! after they went on stage together last year in prague they'll now hit it at GALILÄA CHURCH! https://www.facebook.com/events/1100867069264073/ A.V.SUALS blurs the boundary between what is seen and what is heard, where each flicker of light and every visual error becomes a potential sound source. Based in Berlin, her work is grounded in improvisation and guided by a deep curiosity for audiovisual dissonance—treating noise as expression, and the visual as the beginning of notation. https://lilu.space/ https://www.instagram.com/a.v.suals/ GROWTHRINGS Psychedelic/horror synths, almost indecipherable lyrics and murky tape recordings to weave an intricate emotional narrative, the music of Growthrings oscillate between dark ambient, avant-pop and noise, often subtly hinting at old Slavic folk traditions. https://soundcloud.com/growthrings @a.v.suals @aportofo @kopeliana @billbumpstead @galilaeakirche @bruital.events

The musicians will dive into free improvisation to find multiple answers for one only meaning. https://karen-ng.com/ https://linktr.ee/ipekodabasi https://sofiasalvo.com/ https://markballyk.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Dz-C0TpmI8 Support: Devin Gray & Liz Allbee Devin Gray Berlin/NYC-based drummer Devin Gray is an artist driven by velocity, imagination, and an unshakeable commitment to the unknown. Rooted in jazz but propelled by an expansive curiosity, Gray moves fluidly between forward-leaning composition, high-intensity improvisation, and genre-agnostic experimentation; establishing himself as a vital and unpredictable presence in contemporary creative music. https://devingraymusic.com/ Liz Allbee is a trumpet player, composer, performer, and improviser, originally from Vermont, in the United States, and now living and working in Berlin, Germany. Allbee lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay Area for 14 years, before moving to Berlin. https://lizallbee.bandcamp.com/
