Some people come into your life and leave an impression. Others come into your life and leave a legacy.

It’s not every day you get to call someone you genuinely admire, look up to, and have the utmost respect for a true friend.

Life isn’t measured by the number of people you meet, but by the friendships you build, the memories you make, and the people who make your life better simply by being part of it.

Bill, your friendship is something I’ll always cherish. The stories, the laughs, the wisdom, and the memories are priceless.

Some friendships are worth more than gold, and this is certainly one of them.

A true legend, an even better human being, and a friendship I’ll forever be grateful for.

Nothing but love, loyalty, admiration, and the highest level of respect for this man.

Please join me for my upcoming “Talk Story” events at the California Surf Club with two very interesting surfers.
On Saturday 8/22, I’ll be chatting with the legendary Billy Hamilton. This promises to be a very special evening as Billy recounts his life story including being one of the surf industry’s first big stars, pioneering the North Shore, Kauai, France, El Salvador and many other spots, the story about adopting Laird (Laird was only 2 while Billy was just 17!), his many adventures as a commercial fisherman including catching the shark that attacked Bethany Hamilton, as well as his highly respected shaping and artwork. You won’t want to miss it.
But first up this Tuesday 8/11 will be a conversation with Michael Schwab. We will cover a lot of ground including what it was like growing up with a famous dad who is a titan of the finance world, how he came to be the main investor in the original Kelly Slater wave pool, and talk in depth about some of his current ventures including the Cabo surf/golf project, the Coral Mountain venture in the Coachella Valley as well as his upscale resort Nihi Rote which recently opened in front of an epic right hander in Indonesia.
