As some of you know, I’ve been on a bit of a hiatus this year, but getting a request from the @weezer crew felt like a good time to start drawing again :)

I have a vivid memory of painting a tree frog in my garage for art class while blaring Pinkerton on my stereo. It feels crazy that it was 30 years ago, but it was a perfect album to help me deal with my angsty feelings and the uncertainty of youth. If you knew me back then, you knew I had an unfortunate haircut and loved Weezer. Decades later, I can’t tell you how cool it feels to make artwork for them now on multiple occasions, and each instance is special to me.

For this poster at @maverik_center, I wanted to embrace the geography and depict an epic place of pilgrimage where people could have gathered for eons. And now the iconic flying W that adorned my CD binder zipper pull serves as a centuries-old monolith inviting you to ... rock. These were screenprinted by @inkloungeco, and they turned out really great. My artist prints are now available in my shop while supplies last!

Rewatched the entirety of Twin Peaks a while ago, thought I wanted to make a fitting tribute - this one is for the DAVIDS group project that we’re doing over at @billingbloc ! Every participating artist creates a piece for a director named David :)

For what feels like one hundred years and a thousand hours, @thecure has been close to me. Since I started doing gig posters, the idea of illustrating for them has been a wish of mine. So it was a strange day, out of the world, when @collectionzz asked me to collab with them on the poster for The Cure's headlining show at the @pohodafestival in Trenčín, Slovakia on a night like this.

I am so happy to share the finished art (and alternate sketches); working on this was just like heaven and I'll be high until the last day of summer. I am so glad that i had the faith to wish impossible things.

I hope you like this as much as I loved making it! Let me know what you think and comment, share, and all that. End.

NEW WORK

David Fincher’s @mindhunter inspired illustration as a part of @billingbloc DAVID3 art show.

If you know me you know how much I love ‘Mindhunter’ series and that to this day I can't accept that it was canceled. This piece is a love letter to this series, its creators, cast and crew and especially to the fandom that also can't accept that there will be no more seasons.

Illustration digitally painted in Fresco.
