Waylon Wednesday!!!! Celebration of my friendship… respect and admiration for one of my true musical heroes. This was recorded with his son Shooter. First time I ever went to Waylon’s house for coffee was after a Waylon Wednesday radio show out of Nashville with Carl P Mayfield. Clips of that initial meeting are on my new album THE HILL produced by my son Braison. By popular demand we will drop a few more stories from that interview on Nov 6 release day. Stay tuned.

The mission of @thealexfund is “Let’s Create Together.” Writing new material with legendary songwriter @jsteelemusic always inspires me. Jeffrey, his family and their friends are keeping Alex’s memory and legacy alive through The Alex Fund. So here we are … creating together.
Writing songs … recording…. being in a band.

Great being back at WSM Radio with Nan Kelley… broadcasting from Roy Acuff’s former home. Played some Johnny Cash, George Jones, Loretta Lynn and sweet Dolly. 🎶

Looking back at the legends who shaped me… and looking ahead to THE HILL Deluxe arriving October 23 featuring “Tip Your Hat” with @christungseth and @buckycovington from American Idol.

So crazy. Talk about full circle. Just re-cut Storm In The Heartland for my deluxe album out Oct 23 in The Castle, the same studio where I originally recorded it 30 years ago. So appropriate and ironic after the devastating storms across the Midwest. Seeing this again leaves me with a heavy heart and reminds me of their resilience. Working together they will rise above this … I’ve seen it before … first hand.

Great day at The Castle. Braison and I finished our deluxe album out Oct 23.

For an encore we completed the circle ⭕️ with a powerful new version of Storm In The Heartland where I first recorded it the year he was born.

This moment feels a lot like 2019 OTR... only in reverse! It’s Alright ft. @steverayladson out tonight!
Hope you like the new sound … I call it Mix 2 !

It’s a The Beatles-esque moment at Abbey Road Studios. Took this next shot while we tweaked the mix!

Here’s a song about paying respect to those who came before us in country music. Opened the door for all of us who enjoy the privilege of playing country music and doing what we love to do. Here’s a little glimpse from the tour and tipping my hat to the teachers !!!!! 🎸🤠
