Bridge the Gap | May 25, 2026

@youngdiasporapros Director — Blessing Kalu — speaking at the A6RG Africa Day Summit at Ottawa City Hall.

The future of Africa-Diaspora economic leadership.

I’m on a mission to bridge the gap between inter generational collaboration because experience and Innovation are not competitors; they are partners.

We shouldn’t feel the need to restart with every generation. Let’s build on the foundations that have been established, and start scaling sustainable wealth and influence.

Follow @youngdiasporapros for upcoming news on our next event!

Calling all braiders and Hairstylists! Let’s chat🧐

How are you feeling about these price increases? Have you already raised your prices?

Investing in good products is very important for me💯 I also don’t want to miss out on possible alternatives because of my love for one product 😂

Please share what braiding gels you’ve been using. Anything similar to the one mentioned in this video would be preferred but I’m open to researching any suggestions 📲

One of our favourite conversations from the evening was our Youth Entrepreneurship Fireside Chat. 🔥

We were joined by sisters Sariah and Ariella, founders of @youngbossesinbusiness , as they shared the heart behind their organization and the impact it’s making in the lives of young entrepreneurs.

Ariella shared how seeing other young leaders grow through YBIB inspired her to keep building. Sariah reminded us of an important truth: never underestimate someone because of their age.

Sariah and Ariella are a great example that leadership isn’t defined by age. They saw a need, took initiative, and through Young Bosses in Business have created opportunities for young entrepreneurs to learn, connect, and grow.

A special thank you to Jayla Walker, who did an incredible job moderating this fireside conversation. Her thoughtful questions, warm presence, and ability to guide the discussion created meaningful moments that allowed Sariah and Ariella’s story to truly shine.

Be sure to follow @youngbossesinbusiness for upcoming youth programs, and follow @youngdiasporapros so you don’t miss future conversations, opportunities, and events.

Support the YBIB Summer Youth Market today! (July 25)

FLAT TWISTS:

Loveee these flat Twists! I have realized that the results differ depending on the clients hair density (which is like most styles but it’s more noticeable with this style, so results vary)

I’m thinking of adding more flat twist options to the site, let me know in the comments if I should!⬇️

Always accepting new clients (booking link in @blessbraids bio), and loving the creative Summer looks, keep them coming😌

3 YEARS LOC’D IN🎊

S/O to one of my most consistent Loc clients, who has been coming to me since my home studio days🥹

We started his locs [July 17,2023] using the comb coil method. It has honestly been a journey as we had to make a few adjustments along the way as we created a routine for him. And that routine would change as his locs matured aswell.

Maybe one day I’ll go through my entire camera roll to find his progress videos from his appointments throughout the past 3 years. (Won’t be anytime soon tho😂)

Consistent retwist appointments ensure the locs are maintain well. When it’s overdue the roots start to form together, so the retwist ensure each loc is forming individually. The locksmithing/palm rolling technique ensures the locs maintain their length (unlike interlocking, and crocheting techniques which often reduce the loc length). It also trains the locs to form evenly and keep a cylinder shape (instead of flat locs)

Success results come from a combination of the salon appointment AND his home routine. He follows every suggestion, he gives me updates on his home routine (products, frequency of use etc), keeps his hair hydrated, and even lets me know if he ever has a busy season where his routine may not have been consistent like exam weeks. (Which is ok because life happens; we just need communication).

I care about the health and success of my clients, but they have to care aswell for results to show. If you want to prioritize the health of your hair, I’d love to support with my services as best as I am able to.

Book a consultation, and we’ll start this journey together! Link in @blessbraids bio
