NO COUNTRY FOR TIRED DADS

In a world of early alarms, overcrowded convention centers, questionable coffee, and awards ceremonies with no known end time, one dad must summon the strength to do what Cheer Dads everywhere have done before him:

Carry the bag. Find the parking spot. Protect the coffee. And somehow make it to warmups on time.

He is tired.

He is under-caffeinated.

He has absolutely no idea where he parked.

But his daughter is competing.

So he keeps going.

25 years ago today, I walked into the office at Horizon Lake Drive for my first day at Varsity Spirit.

I had absolutely no idea what was ahead. I just knew I would show up every day and love what I did. I could never have imagined that it would become 25 years of the most incredible people, friendships that became family, mentors who changed my life, unforgettable experiences, and a career that has challenged and fulfilled me in ways I never could have dreamed.

There have been some very hard days, too. And in some of my darkest moments, the people I work with have been the ones who lifted me up, inspired me, and reminded me to keep looking forward.

25 years later, I’m still showing up. Still learning. Still loving it. And still incredibly lucky to get to do what I do with the people I do it with.

Cheers to 25 Years 🎉
