From @billsuede

''Im working on 2 new solo albums, an album with Kavawon, and album with GRIN, and an album with ill Lyrics.

Releasing a new single "Forward Focused" on September 18th. Just pitched it to Spotify editorials for potential playlist placement.''

Bil Suede was part of the Gabriola Rap Collective The Beat Shiners and is a Friend of Discreet and frequent collaborator since way back when Sly Jones had him and @jackreezy on the now vaulted track 'Rain Man' off the concept album with the same name.
.
Bill has put in work consistently since the beginning and has lyrics that carry a political, spiritual and moral message that Discreet Nation fully supports.
Bill obviously sees unity and a coming together and understanding of differences, clearly defined in his music, and at the heart of it spreads love, and a message of peace.

I don’t think the best love stories are the ones that demand attention.

I think they’re the ones that feel easy.

The ones tucked into ordinary moments. A hand held without thinking. A smile that shows up before words do. The way someone instinctively leans closer because that’s where they belong.

Watching these two felt like watching a favorite old country song come to life.

Nothing forced. Nothing flashy.

Just two people completely caught up in each other while the sun dipped low and the world carried on around them.

The kind of love that makes time slow down for a minute.

The kind that makes you believe in all those songs you’ve heard a hundred times before.

The kind that leaves you looking at these photos and thinking,

well…

it must be love. 🤎

The latest collaborative effort between Bill Suede and GRIN.

This one is a very special and really powerful track.

Titled "Innerself Awareness" it's about the struggle to overcome haunting echos from our past and working to forge better, healthier habits.

It's about moving beyond old outdated patterns of thought such as hedonism, depression, and regret.

It's about the lifelong journey of becoming more self-aware, and learning how to master the mind, instead of being a slave to it.

Our verses on this track convey the real life struggles faced throughout one's lifetime and the focus and commitment it takes to keep moving forward, learning and growing wiser and stronger as we work to build a better and brighter future.

Photos Circa 2009 of Gabriola Underground Hip-Hop Groups performing live.
Featuring images of members of:
Audio Addicts
Beat Shiners
Discreet Nation

These artists and groups had a strong influence on the music / street and style influence of the early 2000's Gabriola Youth.

From selling CD's in school, on the BC Ferries, Port Place, to shows at Old Crow, The Vault , The Queens.

The second image is The Crews opening for Sweatshop Union, at the Gabriola CampGround in 2009.

Sweatshop Union is an internationally known Hip-Hop collective who also has deep roots on Gabriola Island.
