POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Today, on Earth Day we’re honoring the one and only Bill Sweat, Founder Emeritus, whose hands-on commitment to Biodynamic® farming helped shape Winderlea into one of Oregon’s first certified vineyards, establishing the low intervention approach that continues to define our wines today.

Faced with aging vines and conventional advice to replant, Bill chose another path: care for the living system beneath. Guided by pioneers like @brickhousewineco, @montinore, and @beauxfreres he embraced farming rooted in soil health, biodiversity, and natural rhythm.

As Bill shared with us, “That rhythm has become my life for the past twenty vintages. It colors how I see the vineyard and what it needs.”

Building on the foundation Bill established, we’re proud to continue farming this historic estate as Certified Biodynamic®. 🌎🍇 #earthday #biodynamicfarming #wvwines #winepioneer

Every day, I get to create art through my photography—capturing flavors, textures, and the passion behind every dish. It’s more than just images; it’s about the people I meet, the stories they share, and the creative energy that flows through the culinary and hospitality world.

The last few years was just the beginning. Thank you to the chefs, makers, and brands who trust me to bring their vision to life. I’m endlessly inspired and honored to be part of this journey. Here’s to more storytelling, more connections, and more beauty in the details!

And just like that, the harvest season comes to an end! ✨ 🍇 After weeks of hard work, early mornings, and countless grapes, to the final pick, every grape tells the story of dedication, passion, and tradition. Grateful for the vineyard steward’s hands that made it happen and excited for the bottles that will come from this year’s vintage. Cheers to the fruits of our labor! 🥂🍷 #Harvest2024 #WineMaking #VineyardLife #FromVineToBottle #winderlea #cosecha #wvharvest2024 #inclusive #winethings #wineeducation #winelovers #wineinfluencer #winetips #wineeducator #winetasting #foodandwine #winebar #popup #dundeehills #oregon #willamettevalley #dundee #jorysoil #chardonnay #pinotnoir #stillwine #sparklingwine #vineyardstewards #vineyardworkers #farming

Featured here are Navor, crew supervisor, Daniel B., Vineyard Manager, @krlaudr, viticulture technician, Felipe, equipment supervisor, and of course @billsweat of Winderlea! Perfect wine to while away a sunny warm evening…

To kick off this Memorial Day weekend on a high note, I opened a celebratory bottle of Winderlea Chardonnay 2018. This wine is a true Oregonian gem. A soulful wine.

Refreshing and paradoxically crisp and creamy this medium-bodied golden yellow Chardonnay offered generous softly enticing aromas and a palate laden with lemon crème, characteristic minerality, and saline. Every sip balanced and smooth unveiling a crisp acid and almond infused finish.

Grapes for this wine grown, harvested, and wine crafted impeccably by phenomenal husband and wife team in the bucolic hills of the Willamette Valley.

Cheers to my friends @winderlea ! And Happy Memorial Day Weekend from finally sunny Boston!
