Flashback Friday What do yall think?? Has Shalamar always just been a name not talent? 2009 Solar Records Dick Griffey talks Shalamar being about the name moreso not the members showing ownership business perspective, adapting to constant replacements. Micki Free talks about his background and how he ended up joining Shalamar after Jeffrey Daniel left as an OG fan of not just Shalamar but RnB watching this again made me wonder of this is why so many R&B groups don’t last and why Shalamar as a recording act had so many changes #shalamar #solarrecords #rnb #blackhistorymonth Fair Use I Don’t Own The Rights To This Video

Shalamar history fact D’Lisa (also known as Delisa) Davis is the female who replaced placed Jody Watley not longtime member Carolyn Griffey @iamcarolyngriffey daughter of Dick Griffey member since early 2000s, replacement of Delisa Davis. Jody Watley had left the trio in 1983 before release of The Look album. Delisa Davis talks about joining the group after winning national Solar Records talent search. Longtime fan here noticing revisionist history that goes on. Micki Free had replaced Jeffrey Daniel by recommendation of Shalamar producer Leon Sylvers III DELISA was a member from 1984 - 1992. Jody Watley made the most notable impact as the original female, Griffey is the longest tenured member but never recorded any significant Shalamar music or hits no diss just facts. DD deserves her recognition people need to stop leaving her out in chronological History of Shalamar #shalamar #rnb #musicgroup
