POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

After experimenting with some lighting tutorials and composition studies, we have Devin v.s Tyrell in the elite DSA Training Facilities in their student uniforms. Had a lot of fun making this one & a vfx visualizer is coming soon!

You Hear Words Like Style, Grace, And Swag.

And Then There’s BILLY NORRIS.

When You First Meet Billy Norris, You Almost Immediately Find Yourself Asking:

“What Does This Young Man Do?”

Then He Tells You.

And Then He SHOWS YOU.

Billy Norris Is An Extravagant, Extraordinary, And Incredibly Gifted ANIMATOR.

And Once You Discover That, Everything About Him Starts To Make Sense:

The Style.
The Imagination.
The Personality.
The Confidence.
The Way He Presents Himself.

Billy Carries The Kind Of Creative Energy That Makes You Believe His Mind Is Building Worlds Even When He Isn’t Sitting In Front Of A Screen.

When I Tell You I Run Into Some Extremely Talented And Gifted People At SCAD, I TRULY DO.

And BILLY NORRIS IS ONE OF THEM.

Animation Requires More Than Knowing How To Make Something Move. It Requires Imagination, Patience, Storytelling, Observation, And The Ability To Take Something That Once Existed Only Inside Your Mind

And Give It LIFE.

That Is A Gift.
And Billy Has It.

As A Filmmaker, I Pay Attention To Creatives Like Him Because Film Is Bigger Than What Happens In Front Of A Camera. The Future Of This Industry Belongs To Artists Who Can Build Characters, Environments, Stories, And Entire Worlds Across Mediums.

Billy, Continue Developing Your Craft. Continue Being Different. Continue Walking Into Rooms With Your Own Style And Your Own Identity.

Because Eventually, The Right Room Is Going To Need Exactly What You Bring Into It.

And When That Happens…

SHOW THEM.

Keep Elevating, Brother.

Inside the Room with Billy Norris.

We caught up with Billy to talk about his art and animated series, Legends of the Microcosms—from what first inspired him to create to the details, characters, and ideas behind the world he’s building.

That range of perspective is what makes Culture X Canvas special. From illustration and painting to storytelling, animation, mixed media, and everything in between, you never know what you might discover once you step into the room.

This isn’t everyone in the Pilot, just a few from some scenes in Act I 👀
#legendsofthemicrocosms #series #animation #anime #comic

Devin’s og friend group. First is Tyler, Devin’s partner in crime who entertains his plots. Next is Andrea, who acts concerned but let’s be real, she’s Tyrell’s ex-gf so she likes the trouble.

Ah yes. Tyrell, Devin’s biggest opp on campus and the group leader of his homeboys. Malcom is the chill one, Cj is the conniving one, and Tae is the wildcard. All of them stay up to no good and irritate Devin to no end.

One of the first Microcosms we see. Jade! She is fierce, swift, and uses her angelic energy to slice with her dual-swords. Next is Zarla, the head news influencer of the decade. She needs the tea, she needs the drama, and she isn’t afraid to be both.

The second Microcosm who fights alongside Jade, Fatimah. She is reserved, wise, and protective and uses a staff to project angelic energy against Spiritual Beasts. Next to her is Jada, more on her later but she has access to some very important places in this world.

Concept art and whatnot 👀

Don’t get sued chile. Reposting is fine tho🫶🏽
