First look at THE MAIDS which officially opens tonight in Barrie! AIDAN DESALAIZ is Solange. BILLY LAKE is Claire. SHANNON TAYLOR is Madame. Solange is Solange. Claire is Claire. Madame is Madame. But sometimes Solange is Claire. Sometimes Claire is Madame. Sometimes Solange needs to be reminded she is Claire even though she is Solange. Madame is always Madame. Confused? We have the solution: See THE MAIDS! Two domestic workers are very unhappy in their place in society and try to exact revenge by ruining the life of their employer, Madame. When their plot to frame Madame's lover in a crime fails and they are at risk of being discovered, they fantasize about Madame's murder, unaware of the true strength of their darkest dreams. THE MAIDS, written by Jean Genet, translated by Bernard Frechtman, is directed by Jillian Keiley. and starring Aidan deSalaiz, Billy Lake and Shannon Taylor. The creative team includes Jake Friesen (Production Design), Aaron Collier (Sound Design), Bob Stamp (Lighting Consultant), Joey Lau (Stage Manager) and Kelsey Jensen (Assistant Stage Manager). THE MAIDS runs September 17-October 3 at Barrie By The Bay Commercial Complex, 80 Bradford Street. Seats are limited to only 17 per performance, so get your tickets today! These humans. 🤍 The day before we started rehearsals for Snow White, my dad passed away. This group lifted me up, wrapped me in love, and gave me endless comfort. Most importantly, they kept me laughing every. single. day. In the midst of immense grief, there was such joy. Words don’t really do justice to what these people mean to me, but a picture is worth a thousand words… so here’s twenty thousand. Eternally grateful for our Grand Bend bubble.🫧🫧🫧
