Have you heard the good news? Billy Strings has risen! Learn to fly on broken wings 🕊️💙🕊️

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I will never get tired of hearing Billy sing the chorus to "Thunder." It is powerful through a speaker, but hearing it live with thousands of people around you is a completely different feeling. ⚡

Tampa got "Meet Me at the Creek" > "Thunder" > "Meet Me at the Creek" to close the show on 4/8/26. I would relive this ending a hundred times if I could.

Since I’m from Michigan, it’s been super cool seeing Billy Strings really take off big over the past few years. I thought I’d revisit some stuff I took of him in 2016 at Wheatland’s Winter Wheat show.

This is one of my favorite shots I took of him that night. I love the lighting and the emotional quality of it.

I’ve got some more shots of the show. If you’re a fan of Billy and you’d like to see all of them, I’ll be sharing them in my email newsletter in the next day. If you’d like me to send them all right to you, you can sign up at:

Flash back to Fort Worth, TX. Still blown away by the Seven Weeks in County, which melted the entire arena. Huge shout-out to @roygbivlsd on the lights for absolute perfection behind the board.🔥

Saxton on the lights = Pure art 🔥

Who else was there? 🙌

I recreated this viral video of Billy playing Dust in a Baggie at a party, before fame. I really liked the raw spontaneity of this video. And dude in the back having a reaction to the Dust in a Baggie solo is so real.

I loved painting the scene and assembling the pieces to make this sort of shadow box puppet installation. I’ve used this technique on a few commissions i’ve completed recently... i’ll share those later. I custom build these boxes to be the exact size i want and to be modular so they be taken apart, ship flat, and then be re assembled. But I really want to make more of these boxes recreating meaningful videos or scenes.

I’m over flowing with ideas of what to make next.. inspired by all the baby pictures in the vinyl cover for me & dad shown in slide 2….maybe even recreating that whole album cover in a box would be cool…

Im having so much fun making #stuff and i love hearing other peoples ideas for what else to make. so please always feel free to share your ideas!
Anyways, this type of 3d kinetic art is really somethin ya gotta come see in person… so i’ll have it on display when Billy comes to Denver!
