Small beginnings. Colourful possibilities. 🎨✨ I just completed my first assignments in a Vector Illustration bootcamp, and I’m excited to share the start of my journey! This week’s lineup is Candies 🍬, Doughnuts 🍩, Sneakers 👟, and Tapes 🎀. Everyday objects, reimagined through colour, shapes, and playful details. There’s plenty to learn, but I’m proud of this first step and excited to see how my work evolves. Happy Sunday, guys 🥰✨ I’m finally excited to share Grandma’s Special Recipe. I wanted to create something fun and exciting for children while exploring a simple idea; there’s so much joy to be found outside of screen time. Two twins, a weekend with Grandma, pancakes, family traditions, and lots of little moments that become lasting memories. 🥞❤️ Through this project, I explored storytelling and expressive illustration to bring their little adventure to life. A big thank you to @bimboonistudio for the guidance and feedback throughout this project. ❤️ ✨ Full case study on Behance. https://www.behance.net/gallery/255010231/GRANDMAS-SPECIAL?platform=direct What do you think? 🥹 #GrandmasSpecialRecipe #Illustration #CharacterDesign #ChildrensIllustration VisualStorytelling DigitalIllustration

She was never just a girl standing in a grey village. There was a whole story behind her. I shared this illustration as a static piece before. Now, I wanted to take you inside her world and show you what happened before the colors returned. Amina found a little jar of colors… and somehow, that tiny discovery changed everything. 🎨✨ This is the story behind the illustration. Over the past few weeks, I challenged myself to create and post more illustrations consistently. This project became a short illustrated story called “The girl who collected colors.” I would love to know which page is your favorite

Today, Abimbola Ashonibare, founder of Bimbo Studios joins our fellows to explore the art and strategy of Brand Design and Communication. Because in a crowded CivicTech space, how you present your work matters just as much as the work itself. While learning product design last year, I found myself drawn to another skill that stood out to me which is illustration. What started as simple curiosity around using the Pen Tool quickly evolved into something deeper as I began to realize there was much more to it than just creating shapes. A major turning point for me was discovering the work of @bimbo.designs her illustrations consistently stood out not just visually, but in how they communicated ideas and told meaningful stories, that alone inspired me to explore illustration more intentionally. I eventually reached out in order to connect and learn from her and when she announced her illustration bootcamp earlier this year, it was an easy decision to join. From the very beginning, the experience reshaped my perspective I moved from simply “drawing with the Pen Tool” to understanding illustration from a brand and storytelling standpoint. Through consistent practice and structured guidance, I have been able to sharpen my drawing skills, improve my workflow and approach illustration with more clarity and purpose. Overall, it has been a highly valuable learning experience with @bimboonistudio one that I would confidently recommend to anyone looking to build a strong foundation in illustration.
