My latest animated short, ‘Gelem, gelem’ (trad. ‘I went, I went’) is soon to be released.
Inspired by true stories told by a group of Romani women, the film shows the trials and triumphs of a traveller community on their journey to the UK.

A project developed under Roma Connections 2, supported by KaskoSan Roma Charity, Salford University, and made possible with the financial support of the Ideas Fund/The Science Association.

The Ideas Fund matches community groups with researchers to explore ideas related to improving mental wellbeing.

For the past few months I’ve been illustrating and directing my latest film, an animated short which tells the story of the life and travels of a UK Roma community. This has been a massive collaboration of animators - big shout to these amazing guys @bimjus @o.goopka ikyllua and @paultrickettanimation - musicians and most importantly, the Romani community who let us into their lives and secrets. Made possible with funding from #theideasfund and reams of watercolour paper, long nights and an endless supply of music which will be the making of this film, truly. #shortfilm #animation #director #2danimation #shortfilm #roma #animate #violin #travellers
