Gonna mix things up a little bit and drop a Vinyl post, and what a beauty it is…

ALAAP’s debut album, TERI CHUNNI DE SITARE, which released in 1979 on the band’s own label at the time, and was later re-released on the MULTITONE label.

This one is the orignal first release of the LP and a hard one to find. I only found out about this particular release a couple of years ago, and managed to add one to my personal collection, and now have one for sale FOR THE FIRST TIME 🔥

Credited as being one of the pioneering albums of the new U.K. Bhangra sound of the era; the album became very popular.

It released the same year I was born, and although I’d heard songs from the album over the years, I had no idea what album they were from until many many years later, by which time I’d been buying @alaap.thelegends’s later releases.

The band members at the time of release were:

@channisinghalaap - Vocals
Harjit Gandhi - Keyboards / Accordion
Randhir Sahota - Guitar
@kondal.manjeet - Naal
Chandu - Tabla

And they all performed their respective instruments on the recording.

Other credits are:

Music & Santoor Bazuki - @deepakkhazanchi
Percussion - Billu
Violin - Nawazish Ali Khan
Lyrics - Gurmail Sandhu Ramoonwalia, Sowaran Preet & Channi Singh

Although NAWAZISH ALI KHAN was a guest artist on this album, he later joined the band, along with members like @bindisagoo, @kally_kalyan, @johnnykalsi & @officialsunilkalyan to name a few.

Please message me for the eBay link to add this rare iconic album to your personal collection.

The auction ends tonight, Wednesday 7th October 2026, so good luck with your bids 👍🏽

ਸੰਤਾਂ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਜਿ ਆਪਿ ਖਲੋਇਆ
Santaa Ke Kaaraj Aap Khaloiaa

The Lord Himself stands by and resolves the affairs of His Saints.🤍✨

Such powerful words of reassurance and faith a reminder that when we place ourselves in Guru Sahib’s hands, Maharaj himself stands with us.

There will be moments when we cannot see how things will work out, but Gurbani teaches us to keep our bharosa. We are never walking alone, Guru Sahib’s Kirpa is greater than anything we may be facing. 🙏🏻

Dhan Guru Nanak

Blessed is Guru Nanak.✨

There is something so beautiful about simply repeating Dhan Guru Nanak, words filled with love, gratitude and devotion for Guru Sahib. 🤍

Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s message continues to illuminate hearts: Naam, seva, compassion, humility and seeing the One Waheguru ji within all.

ਸੁਖੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਲਹੀਐ
Sukh Teraa Ditaa Laheeai

True peace is found in what You give.✨

Beautifully sung by @jasdeepjutlabansal78 a Shabad carrying such a gentle yet powerful message of acceptance, gratitude and trust in Waheguru ji’s Hukam. 🤍🙏🏻

True peace isn’t only found when life unfolds the way we hoped. Gurbani teaches us to find peace in whatever Maharaj gives, trusting that even when we cannot understand his plan, His Kirpa is still present.

Who remembers this one??

BHANGRA EXPLOSION by AAG GROUP, which released in 1988.

I don’t really have any info about this band, but know there were some well known names associated with it, like the late Daljit Sagoo, @ajitdhesi (who did the music to this album), @tarsemghattaura & Amrik Dhesi.

Not sure who’s in the first 2 pics. Any ideas 🤔

As with most London bands from this era, there was always an overlap of musicians who had been in other bands. This is the same with some of the recording artists on this album, including @gurdip.bains.14, @daljit64, Ramesh Iyer & @bindisagoo.

The album released on the NIVAKO label which was owned by @suri.neermal Uncle Ji, and I can see a picture of HARDEV KONDAL on the back as well, who was the brother of the late @kondal.manjeet, and father of @kaliinc22, so maybe Uncles Neermal, @tarsemghattaura or Ajit, and Inder or Bindi might have some history about the band??

I think Hardev Uncle Ji managed the band.

I love trying to second guess info just by looking at the album sleeves, which sometimes tell a great story!!

Please share any info you have on the band, in the comments sections, and message me for the eBay link, If you’d like to add this forgotten piece of U.K. Bhangra history to your personal collection.

The auction ends this coming Monday, 31st August 2026, so good luck if you decide to bid 👍🏽
