Binge watching is officially out. Binge Thinking is in! For my latest D.C. adventure, I voluntarily attended a college-level physics lecture at a bar... and I have never had so much fun learning about Einstein’s theories! @bingethinking.co is an incredibly cool pop-up lecture series designed as the ultimate antidote to doomscrolling, AI slop, and algorithmic brainrot. They bring real, world-class university professors out of academic lecture halls and directly into local bars for nights of learning, drinking, and real human connection . Their D.C. debut completely sold out with over 100 people on the waitlist, and the vibes were unmatched . Our talk was led by Dr. Cole Miller, an astrophysicist from the University of Maryland, who broke down the mind-bending mysteries of space, time, and black holes! How it works: ⏰ 45-minute engaging talk + 15-minute Q&A 📚 Absolutely no grades, no exams, and no stress 🍹 Plenty of great drinks, food, and mingling with intellectually curious locals It’s the perfect way to get off your screen, step outside your routine, and leave with a little more knowledge than you came with! 🎟️ How to go: Sign up for their email mailing list at bingethinking.co to get notified as soon as their next D.C. ticket drop happens . #BingeThinking #BingeThinkingDC #DCEvents #ThingsToDoInDC #DMVEvents AntiDoomscrolling BlackHoles Astrophysics DCNightlife GeorgetownU UMD DCDateNight

I VOLUNTARILY WENT TO A LECTURE ABOUT BLACK HOLES AND ASTROPHYSICS. WHO AM I?! Especially considering AP Physics was the ONLY class I ever failed! Binge Thinking just launched its first event in DC, and I never imagined I’d have so much fun learning about black holes, Newton’s laws, and Einstein’s theories! Our professor was Dr. Cole Miller from the University of Maryland, a Caltech Ph.D. and astrophysicist. I was always the kid sitting in the front row, and apparently nothing has changed! If I’d had a professor like him, I might have actually passed physics! So what’s Binge Thinking? It’s an anti-doomscrolling experience that gets people off their screens and learning from real experts while making new connections. What started in Boston has expanded along the East Coast, and their DC debut SOLD OUT with a 100-person waitlist! Grab a drink, enjoy some food, mingle, and learn something fascinating for an hour! The funniest part? When people started asking questions about quantum physics, we quickly put our hands down. But we did ask Dr. Miller afterward about time travel. Apparently, if it were possible, it would be more like Harry Potter than the butterfly effect! I had an absolute blast and will definitely be back! Would you voluntarily attend a lecture for fun? Because apparently that’s who I am now! #BingeThinking #BingeThinkingDC #DCEvents #ThingsToDoInDC #DMVEvents BlackHoles Astrophysics AntiDoomscrolling DCExperiences

We are grateful for @harvardchansph Center for Tobacco Control Director Dr. Vaughan Rees for delivering a fascinating lecture, "The Science Behind Smoking, Vaping & Nicotine: Can We Protect Young People While Helping Adult Smokers Move Away from Cigarettes?" last night as part of our ongoing collaboration with @bingethinking.co. Twenty-seven people came out to @lamplighterbrew in #Cambrige, Massachusetts and contributed to the discussion with great questions about topics such as package warning labels and incremental age bans. Thank you to Dr. Rees and to all attendees for a great conversation and to the @bingethinking.co and @lamplighterbrew teams for working with us. Dr. Vaughan Rees, Director of the Center for Global Tobacco Control at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, delivers his lecture, "The Science Behind Smoking, Vaping, and Nicoytine" at Lamplighter Brewing on October 7th as part of a Binge Thinking and Zhu Center collaboration.

BINGE THINKING JUST LAUNCHED IN D.C. - Honest review coming soon! Their first D.C. event completely sold out with around 100 people on the waitlist. The concept? Put your phone down, grab a drink, and spend a couple of hours learning something fascinating from professors and experts. Binge Thinking started in Boston and has expanded to New York, Philadelphia, and now Washington, D.C. In a world of doomscrolling, AI, and 15 second attention spans, there is something refreshing about learning from someone who has spent years actually studying the subject. No grades. No homework. Just drinks, interesting people, and a chance to use your brain for fun. Maybe binge watching is out. Binge Thinking is in. #BingeThinking #BingeThinkingDC #WashingtonDC #DCEvents #ThingsToDoInDC DCThingsToDo ExploreDC DCNightlife DMVEvents

You’re never too old to learn something new 🧠 We recently went out to @bingethinking.co’s first #washingtondc pop up at @lostgenbrewing. Here we got to learn about the mystery, misconceptions, & allure of Black Holes in our solar system. 🕳️ Led by a local @univofmaryland professor and doctorate astrophysicist, we laughed, we listened, & we learned together. Bonus, bringing my aerospace fiancé was not only rewarding in seeing him light up at the topic, but also helpful when trick questions were asked 👀 Be sure to check out their other sessions across DC & of course, follow along for more local fun ✨ #dc #dcevents #dcfoodie #dcthingstodo
