Binninger Birne live at The Sunday Matinee no. 96 on July 12, 2026.

Binninger Birne named themselves after Berlin inventor Dieter Binninger and his signature invention, the alleged "eternal lightbulb", which he conceived in order to lower maintenance costs for his "Berlin-Uhr" – a public clock on Ku’Damm with a display based (again, allegedly) on mathematical set theory.

If you‘re still reading, you should absolutely check out Binninger Birne and their outright weird and marginal dada punk. Lines like "Wenn ich den Schlüpper über die Strumphose zieh', werde ich zum Supermann" (from "Schlüpper" off their self-titled tape, released last year) will haunt me to my grave.

L’Envulve
A Feminist Fun Fair

Finissage: 09.05.26, 18–22 Uhr

Öffnungszeiten:

💡 BLO3000 💡
Grand Re-Opening B.L.O.-Ateliers

Check out our the full program of our todays event! Get ready for the big re-opening of B.L.O.-Atelier filled with art, crafts, exhibitions, concerts, workshops, children’s programs, culinary delights, acrobatics, fire shows, and much more!

Founded in 2004, the B.L.O. Ateliers are finally celebrating a partial reopening following the landlord’s ban on use in April 2024 and the electrical renovations that were successfully completed in February 2025.

Today is the big celebration: The „Tag der offene Tür“, traditionally held in June, will in addition to the exhibitions, offer a program for all ages. Starting at 2 p.m., numerous workshops invite you to participate for a small donation: painting, plaster casting, archery, graffiti, face painting, crafts, screen printing, acrobatics, and a few other surprises are waiting to be discovered. This will be followed by a fire show for children; starting at 6 p.m., there will be numerous concerts on the outdoor stage and in the Kantine, as well as DJs on the Rondell. Food and drinks will, of course, be provided.

Come and celebrate the grand reopening of the B.L.O. Ateliers with us!
