Mathura & Vrindavan: Where Krishna’s Legends Come Alive

Steeped in history, mythology and devotion, Mathura and Vrindavan are among India’s most sacred destinations. Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, lies at the heart of Braj Bhoomi, while Vrindavan—just 15 km away—is celebrated as the place where Krishna spent his childhood and performed his divine Leelas.

From the enchanting Bankey Bihari Temple, Prem Mandir and ISKCON Temple to ancient ghats, temples and sacred kunds, every corner of Mathura and Vrindavan echoes with stories of Krishna, Radha and their eternal bond. The spiritual atmosphere is enriched by the timeless poetry of Bhakti saints such as Surdas, Raskhan and Meerabai.

The surrounding towns add even more colour to the Krishna legend. Gokul is associated with Krishna’s childhood, Barsana with Radha and the vibrant Latthmar Holi, while Govardhan is linked to the legendary lifting of Govardhan Hill.

A visit to Braj is more than a pilgrimage—it is an immersion in living culture. Raas Leela, Charkula dance, folk music, colourful festivals and centuries-old traditions bring Krishna’s stories to life every day. The Mathura Museum also offers a fascinating glimpse into the region’s rich artistic and historical heritage.

And no trip is complete without tasting the famous Mathura peda, kachori, jalebi and refreshing lassi. Visitors can also shop for traditional handicrafts and Krishna-themed souvenirs.

Located about 56 km from Agra, Mathura and Vrindavan are well connected by road and rail, making them an easy addition to an Agra itinerary. The best time to explore the region is generally August to March, when the weather is more comfortable.

Mathura and Vrindavan are not merely places to visit—they are places to experience. Here, devotion fills the temples, music floats through the streets, and the timeless legend of Krishna continues to live in the hearts of millions.

Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli became an iconic duo in their own way. ❤️

And now, when we look at Shubman Gill & Shreyas Iyer, a question naturally comes to mind… 👀

Different players. Different roles. Different personalities.
But could they build something just as special together? 🇮🇳🏏

Not a comparison. Not a replacement.
Just wondering if we’re watching the beginning of another OWN iconic duo. 🥹🔥

What do you think — can Gill & Iyer become an iconic duo for India? 👀👇

Gill’s 223: Captain Fantastic Scripts Record-Chasing Masterclass

Shubman Gill has done it again — and this time, he rewrote the record books.

Chasing a daunting 406 against the West Indies, India produced a sensational batting spectacle, cruising to an emphatic eight-wicket victory with 39 balls to spare.

At the heart of the stunning chase was captain Shubman Gill, who unleashed a breathtaking unbeaten 223 off just 133 balls, decorated with 26 fours and eight sixes.

A Knock for the History Books

Gill's extraordinary innings powered India to its highest successful ODI chase. His 255-run opening partnership with Rohit Sharma provided the perfect launchpad for an unforgettable night.

The captain's double century also shattered several records. His 223 is now the highest ODI score by an Indian captain, surpassing Virender Sehwag's 219. He also became only the second batter after Glenn Maxwell to score an ODI double century while chasing.

Gill reached his double century in just 116 balls, while his 150 came in a remarkable 89 balls — the fastest 150 by an Indian in men's ODIs.

Cricket World Applauds

The cricket fraternity was quick to celebrate the stunning performance. Irfan Pathan hailed Gill's “unreal” form, while Ravichandran Ashwin praised the captain's spectacular double century.

Yuvraj Singh highlighted Gill's maturity and calmness, while Suresh Raina called the innings a “statement” from a captain leading from the front.

A Star in Full Flight

Gill's numbers in 2026 tell their own story. In just 11 ODIs, he has already amassed 894 runs at an astonishing average of 127.71, including three consecutive ODI hundreds at home.

With the 2027 World Cup on the horizon, Gill's explosive form is giving Indian cricket plenty to celebrate.

Records have fallen. A captain has roared. And Shubman Gill has announced, in spectacular fashion, that he is ready for the big stage.
