I am deeply grateful to Thriving Trans Men of Color and the entire 2026 Hampton Roads BIPOC Pride Planning Committee for honoring me with this year’s Sponsorship Award. This recognition means so much because the work was never simply about securing sponsorships. It was about building relationships, bringing people and institutions to the table, and making sure our community had the resources necessary to create something worthy of the people we serve. Every call, email, meeting, follow-up, introduction, and partnership was rooted in one belief: Black, Brown, transgender, queer, and LGBTQ+ communities deserve to be invested in, celebrated, protected, and given the space to experience joy together. I am incredibly proud of what this planning committee accomplished and grateful to have played a part in bringing this year’s BIPOC Pride to life. Thank you to every sponsor and community partner who believed in the vision, and especially to TTMOC and my fellow committee members for trusting me with this work. I accept this award with gratitude, but I share it with everyone who helped us turn a vision into a weekend our community could be proud of. Here’s to continuing to build, connect, invest, and create space for all of us to thrive. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ€Ž
