Last week we promised BIG news... THIS JUST IN: YOU CAN NOW OWN SHARES IN MoPA 🎉 🤯 FIRST STEP: Register your interest via the EOI link in our bio! We’ve grown MoPA to 4 Museums and $30M cumulative revenue in 6 years, thanks to support from colleagues, family and friends, Australia Council for the Arts and YOU, our gorgeous guests. And so when considering how to best fund a new exhibit program, and the NATIONAL growth opportunity ahead for MoPA, it only felt right that the first people we would offer the opportunity to would be YOU: the hundreds and thousands of families who adore and regularly attend their local children’s museums (and those that desperately want a local children’s museum!). An incredible location has now been secured for the next MoPA in Adelaide, where 3,000+ families have already registered for early-bird parties, excursions and play (before any marketing investment). We’ve even started planning yet another interstate museum! Registering your interest to become a shareholder (via the EOI link) puts YOU first in line when our Offer opens, before it opens to the general public. There’s no commitment and nothing to pay to register your EOI. We’ve even set aside investor rewards and memberships, which we’ll share when the Offer opens. But you must register via the EOI link to learn more. LINK IN BIO! * Always consider the general CSF risk warning and offer document before investing *

Update at 10pm - We did it!🦈 We surpassed Dorsal’s minimum goal of $200,000 and have now raised $335,608.98 from 253 investors. A big thank you to everyone who invested and have supported us along the way 💙 ————————————————————————— Some of you may know I’ve been working on Dorsal in the background and on the side for just over 10 years. A lot of work has gone into keeping a platform like this running, especially as it’s continued to get bigger… and honestly, bigger than we’re able to keep up with! That’s why we decided to ask the community we built Dorsal for to come on this next stage with us, offering people the opportunity to own a piece of the company and become a shareholder from just $250. While we we love and appreciate larger investments it’s worth noting that many have actually been at the $250 mark, and together they’ve made up a meaningful part of this raise. I think that really shows how strongly people believe in Dorsal and our mission. Every single investment has helped get us to where we are today and closer to where we know Dorsal can go. 💙 If you’ve been weighing it up, or simply haven’t gotten around to finishing your investment, it’s not too late. Investments close at 10pm AEST tonight. Link in bio or https://www.birchal.com/company/dorsal Invest in @dorsalwatch via @birchalco With 590,000+ app downloads, 950,000+ annual website users and more than 625,000 people across our socials, we’ve built an incredible community around Dorsal. Now that we’ve hit our minimum raise, we’re ready to start rolling out the next generation of the technology. Funding will power our next stage of growth: 🚁 Direct drone integration to spot sharks faster in real time 📱 Improved and updated apps ⌚ A smartwatch rollout, so alerts reach swimmers and surfers right on their wrist 🤝 New technology & industry partnerships A huge thank you to the Dorsal community and everyone who has invested, shared, supported us or simply followed along over the years. And a big thank you to @birchalco and @fuseboxventures for all their support throughout the raise. Always consider the general CSF risk warning and offer document before investing.

Raising is getting tougher and tougher so I'm really pleased to bring our next meetup! Crowdfunded: What happens when VC stops being the door VC is one way to raise, and for a lot of founders it means a long wait at a door that doesn't always open. Equity crowdfunding gives you another way in, raising from the people who already back you: your customers, your community and your biggest fans. Our next panel, brought to you by Birchal, gets into how it works in practice, what it takes to run a campaign, and what founders should know before they start. Swipe to meet the panel: Kirstin Hunter, CEO of @birchalco Michael Nuciforo, founder of Thriday Elleesha King, founder of @pulse.tile Thursday 1 October, 5:30pm Melbourne CBD Free to attend, register via the link in our bio Brought to you by @birchalco and backed by @innovationvictoria

🚸One of my kids recently asked me what they should be when they grow up. For the first time, I didn’t have a tidy answer. None of us can say which degrees will still matter, or which careers AI will reshape. The old map just doesn’t fit anymore. So I keep asking myself what kind of workplace I actually want to hand to the next generation. For me, it’s one that uses AI brilliantly, while protecting the parts that should always stay human. Because you can’t automate a piercing. You can’t automate the moment someone marks a milestone, a loss, or a new chapter in our chair. That’s what we’re building at Covetear. Four studios today, growing to eleven, and 50+ jobs along the way. Our Birchal raise goes live 28 July. Come be part of it. x

Dearest Friends. Three years ago I opened Covetear with one studio and a stubborn idea: that fine jewellery and piercing should both be done properly - not one or the other. Anyone that knows me would never argue that I am determined! Four studios, an online store, more than 6,000 customers, and revenue up 97% year on year. Not off the back of a big marketing budget, but because people trust us, wear our jewellery, gift it, and keep coming back. I’ve built this as a female founder, and I won’t pretend that part has been easy. The rooms are harder to get into, the “no’s” and “not yet’s” are constant, and you learn early that you have to back yourself long before anyone else will. So I did. My big vision is 28 studios around Australia within five years, a global online arm, and international expansion built on what our customers actually tell us, so we grow into the right places for the right reasons, not on a hunch. Today we opened our Expression of Interest on Birchal, and for the first time, our community can become shareholders in Covetear. I won’t make the full pitch here (the numbers and the detail are here: https://www.birchal.com/company/covetear). But if you’ve ever sat in one of our chairs, or you just like what we’re building, take two minutes and have a look. Asking people to back you is harder than building the thing itself. But I believe in where this is going, and so do 6,000+ Covetear customers. Gill x

What a fantastic day at Moama Market. There’s nothing we enjoy more than getting out from behind the kitchen benches and talking directly with the people who love and support Australian-made food. Thank you to everyone who stopped by today, shared a story, tasted our preserves, and reminded us why we started this journey. We’re incredibly proud that every jar we make is crafted with Australian ingredients and made right here in regional Australia. Today we were also able to share some exciting news. Already 57 people have joined us as shareholders, with more than $105,000 invested in the future of Quincey Jones Jelly Preserves Co. Thank you to every one of you for believing in what we’re building. For as little as $250, you can become a part-owner of our jam brand and help us take these beautiful Australian products to more kitchen tables across the country. We have big plans for growth, but we’ll never lose sight of the values that got us here: local produce, honest food and strong community. If you’d like to learn more, have a look at our Birchal offer here: https://www.birchal.com/company/quinceyjonesjelly And to everyone who has already come on board as an investor, thank you for becoming part of the QJJ family. We can’t wait to build the next chapter with you. 🇦🇺🍓🍊🍯 Always consider the general CSF risk warning and offer document before investing.

Birchal’s valuation has dropped from $40M in 2022 to $5M in its latest funding round. But instead of hiding the down-round, CEO Kirstin Hunter publicly explained why. In a rare move for Australia’s startup ecosystem, Hunter openly spoke about changing investor sentiment, falling startup valuations, and why she believes “a down-round isn’t a death sentence.” The story reflects a much bigger shift happening across the startup market right now.
