Dandelion (20.09)

Has anyone seen it?
Has anyone seen that dandelion dancing,
draped in delicate lace, fresh in the whistling wind,
slender and swaying, almost taking wing.

Dandelion, Dandelion, where are you?
Did you lose your way?
Did you lose your mind?
Were you lost to the wind, left somewhere in a field?

Did an innocent breath bear you away, balance you, cradle you, then sow you in four soft sweeps?

The moment lingered, latent.
The wait, slow, so I was told, had lasted a long while.

But how?

How does one wander in the wind,
if not by letting oneself be carried with it?

Should one stay?
Should one stray?
Should one chase what sways just out of reach?
Pursue it, perhaps,
or let it pass?

Ah, how waiting weighs.

For if we wander wherever the wind wills,
losing ourselves along the way,
will we still know the way
back to where we once let ourselves be?

What if we stayed?
What if we sowed?

From one seed, some followed,
then some more still,
as time went by,
as the wind went by.

From patience, with time,
a field came to life.

Dandelion, Dandelion,
somewhere in the sowing,
I found you beneath my feet,
growing wild,
far and wide,
all across my field.

🇫🇷 FR

L’a-t-on vu ?

L’attente, lente, m’a-t-on dit, avait duré longtemps.

Doit-on rester ?
