It’ll be completely different all over again by next year.
I scanned these with my phone.
Don’t come for me.

We’re grateful to photographer Birgit Buchart (@birgitbuchart) for donating a work to Through Her Lens in support of KIOO NYC.

Birgit Buchart is a film photographer whose practice is centered around searching for moments of calm and quiet through her camera. Working with analog photography, her images turn an attentive eye toward the subtle moments and environments encountered in everyday life.

100% of proceeds will support KIOO NYC, a new photography workshop for recently arrived immigrant students, using photography as a tool to foster dialogue, creative expression, and connection.

After our 2-week intensive workshop at C.E.B Manuel Bonilla in Villanueva, Honduras we are showcasing the kids’ amazing photographs and handing out their photography certificates. 🎓📸
Thank you to @glasswingi for trusting us with the workshop and for continuing the curriculum with the kids after our departure.

We are incredibly proud of this group of kids who showed up with enthusiasm, creativity and passion every day. The girls took fearlessly on the leadership role and the boys embraced their new teachers with respect and kindness! Thank you to each one of you!
