Smile anyways - Hyrox Boston 13th overall What a blessing it is. Thank you Jesus. Last Thursday and Friday I couldn’t walk. I knew it would take a ton for me to be able to race a week later. But God! I had 4-5 encounters with PTs, doctors, and chiros in the last week that feel like they fell out of the sky and somehow I was able to race. I have a terrible history of left ankle sprains, fractures, and ligament tears - so I was pretty confident that I would be chalked this week. I’m extremely grateful that I got to compete. It was a suffer fest. I got demolished on the sleds. And just didn’t have the pop in my left leg on the runs. But I had an incredible time, met incredible people, and got to hangout in an incredible city. The PR streak ends. But the smile streak continues. Mixed doubles today with @kendallalyn at 1:10pm. If your PT couldn’t answer all these questions about you, and your training, need to find a new PT. I’ve been seeing Dr. Josh & Dr. Tim 1-2x a week since November. Bodywork, flexion extension, relearning movement patterns, dry needling, and everything in between. I say this every week, but I truly would not be in a position to race as many times as I do in a season, if it weren’t for them. Your PT should know your weaknesses, see videos of your form in the gym, know your goals, your lifestyle, and how you operate as an athlete!! They know what they are talking about, force me to listen to them OUTSIDE of the office, and actually teach me proper mechanics of movements. Along with the great quad massages. I ride or die @birptherapy, and you should do. This was fun to make

speed run my last @birptherapy appointment — The muscle spasm has released & now it’s just about getting back stronger than I was before Things aren’t 100% & won’t be for a little while but Dr Tim & Josh have helped get me to see the light at the end of the tunnel & I actually cannot thank them enough wherever my bodybuilding journey goes I owe so much to the help they’ve given me these last few months Moving cross country & my last appointments are coming up & im genuinely going to miss it here SO much but I’m just as excited to get to go back to doing the things I love doing

physical therapy updates - right when my lower back felt like it started to make significant progress the stress from it caused a muscle spasm in my upper back. I ran to urgent care about a week ago when I was lying in bed & felt like I couldn’t breathe or move my torso at all. Urgent care was wildly unhelpful so I went back to @birptherapy , after 3 sessions I was already back into the gym. Mentally i’ve been struggling so much feeling like I shouldn’t be a bodybuilder but I owe these guys everything when it comes to giving me hope for my future in this sport. excited for when @ashleymintz & I can turn up the heat 🔥

4 weeks down ✅ 5(ish) more to go After the first 3 weeks I felt like my pain was significantly reduced & then stupidly angered it on the leg press last Monday. Since then the pain has been SO bad. Because of that Dr Josh & I have focused this last week on light stability movements to let my back know that it’s okay & doesn’t need to be freaking out. 6 days & 2 appointments later, I still feel sore but the overwhelming pain is back to what it was before 🥳 I truly miss the gym so much but I know this is what’s going to get me back there soon as long as I follow protocol & not do anything stupid (again) @birptherapy

Dr tim thinks I complain the whole time which is only partly true In reality these are the best 2 hours of my week knowing this is going to help me get back into the gym, I already feel such significant improvements in the little bit of time I’ve been going. I can’t wait to see what happens in the future 🙂‍↕️
