This is a different kind of message today.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the world we’re living in… how fast it’s shifting, how loud it feels, how tech-heavy everything is becoming and what that means for people like us.

After spending a few days at Web Summit, surrounded by thousands of AI founders hustling for a piece of the future (and yes, some of them are creating incredible life-changing work)… something hit me hard.

Creatives are not on the edges of society.
We are the infrastructure holding it together.

Every painting, product, poem, garment, mug, melody, photograph or spark of imagination is the emotional backbone humanity leans on, especially now as the world becomes more automated, more AI-driven, more disconnected.

You are not a “nice extra”.
You are not a hobby.
You are not optional.
You are essential.

But I know it doesn’t always feel like that.

And here’s the part that keeps me awake at night:

When creatives feel undervalued, underpaid, unsupported and under-confident, we become quiet.
Easier to overlook.
Easier to control.
Easier to underpay.
It has worked that way for generations.

Just like women were kept out of rooms where decisions were made, creatives have been kept out of the rooms that shape culture, policy, and opportunity not because we lack value, but because a quiet creative sector is easier to ignore.

And why?
Because we hold soft power.
The power to influence hearts.
The power to connect people.
The power to shift culture.

Maybe that’s uncomfortable for the people who prefer the world to stay linear, predictable, and controllable.

Doesn’t this explain why you still feel like:
you don’t belong
you shouldn’t ask for more
you’re “lucky” to get anything
your work is less than
you should shrink, apologise or stay quiet

It’s time to change that.

I’m doubling down for you, and for the sector.

I want to help build the strongest, most confident creative sector Ireland has ever seen.

A sector where you feel supported, not alone.
Confident, not doubtful.
Proud, not apologetic.
Paid, not drained.
Empowered, not barely surviving.

Until my last breath.
Always in your corner
