Art | Psychoanalysis is a research group exploring where psychoanalysis and art meet and where they diverge. At our launch panel, we responded to Freud’s idea of the “picture-puzzle” through theories and artistic practices.

Boss Yao @bite.yao presenting papers on art and psychoanalysis at @psyartfoundation fellowship lecture and @artpsychoanalysisresearchgroup ‘s launch event. Both papers are derived from her autoethnographic field work writing as a musician experiencing tensions and frictions between an artistic body and the music industry.

Yao also showed @worldcoda ‘s work-in-progress demo co-written with poet-playwright Duohan Zhang @longbow_duohan at the @artpsychoanalysisresearchgroup roundtable event.

It’s a very meaningful step for @worldcoda to have their debut appearances in spaces of which Yao’s been attempting to explore @worldcoda ‘s other facets than simply commodity music - that is, the more philosophical and critical qualities presented by @worldcoda ‘s music as well as the way @worldcoda presents their music.

We will launch the research group of Art | Psychoanalysis via the Art and Psychoanalysis Roundtable Panel alongside the PsyArt Conference 2026 hosted at the University of Essex.

This roundtable launches the research group Art | Psychoanalysis. The aim of the research group is to bring together theorists, psychoanalysts, artists and researchers to study how art and psychoanalysis intersect and depart. The roundtable will start this endeavour by exploring how both art and psychoanalysis engage with experiences that seem absent from everyday consciousness but are present in the unknown undercurrents of human life.

This roundtable is open to everyone. You're warmly invited to join the discussion, whether or not you're registered for the conference.

Starting the new year with hitting the (home)studio. Reamping our favorite, ‘cold solace’, for the album version.

And seagulls flew by above River Thames as I was finishing up the project during the pinkish golden hours. Now it’s time to quote @aymp_pest , who wrote the prose for the press release of ’Rupture’:

“With every flutter of the flock It allured, the Wind of your Quietude flares into the Starlit South. There, pulsating the languages of the Sea, Moon hides her tainted face, and your hollowed body is startled awake.

Exploded projection! Multiplanar Unconsciouses! Glossy cover, beautiful print, new materials, and endorsements! Unconscious/Television’s first edition was sold out in almost 6 months, and @becoming.press invited me to release a second edition! I thank you all for the support and hope this book participates in the conceptualization of a contemporary unconscious. I intend with this work to bring the semiotics of moving images and microperceptions to the clinic: intersecting contemporary psychoanalysis and schizoanalysis, disciplines that exist one because of the other. U/TV was only possible because of my work with @film.death, investigating the animism of organic and inorganic life when creating war machines. Because we approached the concept of death-images, it was possible to articulate immanence, new assemblages for narcissism between desire and the death drive, and libidinal investments. Thomas Lamarre opened the way with his work on Porygon. I just looked for other Porygons crossing realms and breaching representation, and proposed to collapse transcendence using the form of the book itself.
