In February 2025, after several months of feeling an idea brewing in my heart and in my head, I woke up in the middle of the night and finally put my finger on what I wanted to do. I would create a podcast about death and dying, and it would be called “Dying to Know More.”

I’ve always felt curious about and called to this topic. I’ve been interviewing people for 25 years as a career. And I LOVE podcasts. It just made sense.

And for the first time in my life, I have started a creative endeavor and have not lost interest nor let it wither on the vine. In fact, I kind of feel like I’m just getting started.

Over the past 19 months, I have published 32 interviews and a handful of mini episodes. I have met some amazingly intelligent and gifted people who have shared generously of their knowledge and time, and I have learned so very much from each and every one of them.

I scrolled back through my YouTube channel and felt a strong sense of appreciation and pride, and I guess I just wanted to share and say thank you to everyone who said yes to the interview request, who has listened and offered feedback, and who has offered words of encouragement.

My mission has always been to learn more about every facet of death and dying in hopes of demystifying it and perhaps making it a little less scary. I think collectively, we have been able to do that.

We took this picture on October 4th, 2021. I sat down with Chef Aaron Melendrez to talk about his new sandwich shop on my podcast. As you can see behind us the chalkboards were clean. He was still brainstorming on how things would unfold. Aaron grabbed a beer, popped it open and sat down and explained his vision with so much excitement and confidence. He was humble and real. I left the interview thinking, if this dude delivers on what we just talked about this is going to be something special. 5 years later not only is this sandwich shop head and shoulders above the rest but I am confident in saying Uptown Provisions is one of the best in Southern California. Congratulations bro and thank you for bringing your talent, vision, phenomenal attention to detail and unbelievable good vibes for our community. You delivered ten fold bro 🙏🏼✌️😎 #mywhittier #uptownprovisions

Hey 👋 I want to welcome Underground Shaving Parlor to the My Whittier Van 🚐 located at one of the coolest locations around 6737 Bright Ave in Uptown Whittier 90601 - Owned and operated by Matthew Mateo. Matthew literally started at ground zero. He had one barber chair a dream and laser focus to make it. Each year he grew and expanded. In May he celebrated 4 years in business. He now has a great crew of barbers and a great location! If any of you have met Matthew you know what kind of dude he is. Good heart and hard working. Glad to have him on board! #mywhittier

I was invited to speak to the Rotary Club of Whittier today. We had lunch at Roadhouse Grill and I learned about all of the great things the Rotary Club does for our community and the world at large. Really cool stuff. They wanted to hear a little bit about my journey as well. It was another enjoyable experience. Big thanks to President Jeff Nickell and William Ha for the invite. I appreciate it. #mywhittier
