Everybody saw me hugging my son on Senior Night after a HUGE WIN 🏆. But in that moment, I was holding every version of my baby I’ve ever known. 🥹❤️

I whispered everything I pray he never forgets about himself in his ear. How worthy he is. How great he is. How proud I am to be his mama.

No matter how big this world gets for you, son, my arms will always be OPEN. 🫶🏽🏈

An Open Letter to My Son, Donovan ❤️

I found out I was pregnant with you during my senior year of high school… and now I’m watching you walk into yours. 🥹

Donovan, you have no idea what this moment does to my heart.

When I had you, I was still a baby myself trying to figure out how to be somebody’s mama while I was still figuring out who I was. I didn’t have all the answers. I made mistakes. Life wasn’t always easy for us in the beginning, and there were plenty of times I was learning as I went.

But you were right there through it all. ❤️

You’ve been with me through every version of me. You watched me struggle, grow, fall, get back up, and keep going. And everything I did, every sacrifice I made and every time I pushed myself when I wanted to give up, I did it because I had this little boy looking at me who deserved the world.

I remember promising myself that one day, when you became a senior, I would be in a position to give you everything you deserved and MORE.

And baby… we made it. 🥹

Now the little boy who grew up right alongside me is becoming a man. I couldn’t have asked for a better son, and I hope you know just how proud I am of you.

This year, I want you to LIVE. Make memories. Enjoy your friends. Take a million pictures. Dream as big as you possibly can. Your childhood is ending and a beautiful new chapter is beginning, but no matter where life takes you, you will always be the little boy who gave my life purpose before I even knew what I was doing with it.

I thought I was raising you all these years, but in so many ways, you were growing me too. ❤️

From carrying you during my senior year… to watching you walk into yours.

God, what a journey it has been.

My first baby. My greatest motivation. My senior.
Donovan, Class of 2027. 🎓❤️

I’ve dreamed of this moment since the day you were born.

Now go have the senior year you deserve, son. Mama got you. Always. 🥹❤️ @bj_lyonss
