What a cool week! 📸 I was hired as a talent model for #sonykandotrip - a huge event by @sonyalpha @sonyelectronics where Sony ambassadors, pro and aspiring photographers/videographers, and creators of all kinds come together to workshop, learn, collaborate, and create. This year's event was at @snowbird and it was the perfect location. So awesome to see skilled creatives in action - from the photographers/videographers themselves, to the other models/talent, event coordinators, and hair/makeup/wardrobe stylists.

I met so many cool people - see the last photo for the other models/talent (all tagged) and check them out! ❤️ Nyx and I had so much fun modeling - it's hard work (even for how extremely amateur I am lol) and I have mad respect for the pro models here who have mastered the craft. All my love to @hairbyjeanqueen @hairby.talya @hairbyemmycoop who did my hair & makeup each day, they are so sweet and so skilled! ✨ And shout out to @zingiber.officinale for the fun bts pics and videos 🫶🏼 I also had the best time hanging out with my good friend @cello_kat who was also invited on the trip, I always love seeing her in action! 🎻🤘🏼

All that said, I can't wait to share the shoots I modeled for as I get photos back, because they definitely deserve posts of their own!

i vividly remember the first tiny desk video i ever saw. in 2012, my aunt julie showed me @themilkcartonkids tiny desk and i remember doing a deep dive into the concert series itself. i’ve been a massive fan since!

a few months ago, i got a message from my sweet friend emma asking if i’d want to join @little.moon.music . i had also been a massive fan since 2017 when emma and i performed at the same open mic night at @velourlive so it was an obvious yes. not to mention that i was already friends with these folks and that’s a huge reason to play music with others!

never ever ever did i think i would someday be in little moon with my friends and ever get to visit the tiny desk, let alone play in one. to say i’m so grateful isn’t even close. my band feels like family and i’m so grateful to’ve gone through this growth period with them!

the @nprmusic team and @tinydesk (hi bob 👋🏻) were all so gracious and genuine and kind. it’s such a cool corner of the music sphere and i feel so lucky to’ve come in contact with it. i can’t wait to see how the video turns out and will ride this high for a while! ✌🏼

yee haw ⚡ we filmed our tiny desk on monday and I cannot wait for u all to see it next week (!!!)

thank you friends new and old for celebrating and streaming wonder eye and sending kind words and crying tears of joy with us. no words/pictures/videos can ever capture the deep joy and gratitude I feel from this ever evolving experience.

thank you @tinydesk for welcoming us so warmly into your magical family of brilliant minds and sincere hearts. thank you for sharing amazing stories and advice and (¡¡the very best!!) homemade bagels. thank you for playing with us and for receiving our antics with graciousness and joy. I truly love everyone in this little NPR corner of the world.

thank you @natehardyman @blywallentine @bjacksonharp @lil_boi_drums @gracenicol for uprooting your lives to join this crazy ride. I couldn't dream of better bandmates or friends to go on this journey with—you are all the best witches and wizards in all the music lands.

yes our lives are always changing in many ways—but this change feels particularly nice. ♡

The experiences and feelings I've had over the past few days (and weeks) are almost impossible to put into words. It's mindblowing that @little.moon.music - this magical music I've played harp with for years - WON the 2023 @nprmusic #tinydeskcontest , and that we just spent a few days in Washington DC recording our very own #tinydeskconcert that soon will be shared with people all around the country and even the world.

I'm so grateful I get to share this experience with the members of this band that I get to call my friends. ❤️ There is truly no other group of people I'd rather experience this roller coaster with. I can't wait to get to go on tour around the US playing music with them, in just under a month!!!

Shout out to the amazing team at @nprmusic @tinydesk who made our stay so warm, inviting, and memorable. I can't believe the amount of kindness and accomodation these people have shown us, and continue to show us, on this journey! And the biggest thanks to Crookston Music Studio that graciously rented out this gorgeous @lyonhealyharps Style 23 for me to play for the performance.

Being at the actual tiny desk itself at NPR headquarters was surreal, actually experiencing the real place where I've enjoyed watching incredible and accomplished musicians perform at online. It's so crazy to say that I performed on the same stage as Taylor Swift, Mac Miller, Yo Yo Ma, Lizzo, Florence + the Machine, Weezer, Alicia Keys, and so many more!! It was so cool to leave behind our very own signed token of our band, a deck of tarot cards, on the shelf with so much other cool memorabilia left behind by other performers. It's truly one of the highlight experiences of my life so far.
