You might think we forget. That after all these weddings, your day has faded into the rest.

But we don’t. We remember.

The way your dad paused before his toast.
The dance floor with arms around shoulders, singing like it was 2009 again.
The letter you read through tears before putting on your dress.
The way your people showed up like it was the only place they ever wanted to be.

You stayed with us.
Not just in photos, but in how we see.
In how we show up.
In what we look for now, because of you.

To all of our couples, this one is for you.

And to our photographer friends, if someone’s still with you,
let them know.

•2024! What a year!
.
It marked a year of being busy busy busy, working with some really fantastic collaborators, and making a whole lot of art with people near & far! Friends & colleagues helped in huge ways ranging from sharing their expertise & research book recommendations, to being game for last minute projects to be hired onto, to being fit models for performers far away, & more. People sent exciting gigs my way, & I recommended talented others for gigs. We all problem solved costume challenges, avoided Amazon as much as humanly possible for shows designed, and recycled our textile bits (I hope!) to try to work in a green fashion. It all truly takes a village!

I successfully negotiated necessary & significant pay raises for 6 colleagues I work with/supervise in various projects to try to improve the field where I can for others, joined @mmcdancedept full-time as resident costume designer, remained as adjunct faculty in costume design @pacepdsm , had an opportunity to guest teach @nyutischdesign , & loved working with so many artists in academia.
.
Films I worked on designing won awards, dance costumes I designed & built played venues like @radiocitymusichall @auditoriumtheatre @batterydance festival, etc. , & I was able to design & build 2 operas across the country, that were performed by talented singers, orchestras, dancers, and more.
.
I moved costume studios, logged mad hours on the trains, was thrilled to be able to add collaborators to some projects- hiring on a Draper here, an assistant designer there- & our fav Toulouse the shop dog was happily along for the ride. Excited for what’s ahead in the new year…!•

•congratulations to all involved in Amahl & the Night Visitors this past weekend @carolinatheatredurham !

This was probably the most fun show I’ve worked on in awhile, and one of the speediest too. Almost every costume element was built from scratch, and we only had 3-4 days to fit, tech, and open the show… but I cannot imagine a more fun team to do it with! Thank you, @thecot_nc for having me onboard!•
